Flora and Form | Summer Exhibition 2026
We are pleased to introduce the striking
work of Helen SinClair.

Rooted in the landscape of Pembrokeshire, sculptor Helen Sinclair MRSS transforms clay, plaster, wax, driftwood and found fragments into expressive studies of the human form.
Since 1988, Helen has devoted her life to sculpture, drawing inspiration from the textures, imperfections and quiet poetry of the natural world. Her bronzes, cast in Pembrokeshire, carry this sense of place with them — from the weathered remains of the coast to the enduring language of the figure.

Her work is tactile, thoughtful and deeply connected to the landscape she calls home.

‘Flora and form” | Summer Exhibition 2026

We are delighted to spotlight the work of Matilda Annan a recent student Carmarthen School of Art

Her work draws on the ancient tale of The Goose Girl, exploring the story through the elemental symbols of salt, feathers and pearls. Working with iron oxide pigment on handmade paper she uses goose feathers to move the paint on the paper. These materials become a language through which she considers transformation, memory and belonging.
Rooted in the relationship between the human and more-than-human world, the work reflects on connection and the intricate family of living things. Through familiar yet symbolic materials, Annan invites us to consider the bonds that connect us to one another, to nature, and to the stories carried across generations.

🌿🐝 A little piece of history in the garden…
Our myrtle is buzzing with bees today! It was grown from a cutting that began life in a bouquet thrown to a previous owner of the castle in the 1930s, when she was a bridesmaid.
Nearly 90 years on, her myrtle lives on — flowering, thriving and providing a feast for the bees. What a wonderful little thread connecting the garden today with a wedding from so long ago. 💚
