The Weaver's House The Weaver’s House is a restored medieval working man's house in Spon End, Coventry. We can open by arrangement for small groups.

In Spon Street, one of the most historic streets in Coventry, a terrace of six cottages built in 1455 has been brought back to life. One of the cottages has been restored to show how it would have looked in 1540. This shows how John Croke, a Coventry narrow-loom weaver and his family wou

ld have lived and worked. You can also see a replica of the loom that he would have used. Medieval Garden

At the back of the Weaver’s House is a medieval garden showing the plants that would have been grown for food, flavouring, medicine and household use. Open Days

At our free open days you can hear talks about the life of John Croke and the history of the buildings. Open Days can include demonstrations of weaving, spinning, embroidery and other activities connected with medieval life. Entry is free, but we are grateful if you can make a small donation.

Whitefriars Old Ale House, on Gosford Street, is due to reopen. It is one of the city's oldest buildings, dating back to the 14th century and originally served as part of the Whitefriars monastery in the 1300s.

The Whitefriars Old Ale House, on Gosford Street, has reopened after being closed for 10 years.

Stoney Road Allotments, with their distinctive 5 summerhouses, are a rare surviving example of Coventry’s early 20th-century heritage.

In recent decades, the summerhouses have suffered neglect, vandalism, and decay. We provided £250,000 in grant funding to Coventry City Council to comprehensively repair 3 of the 5 listed summerhouses.

The work included replacing the roof coverings, repairing the external fabric and rainwater goods, and redecorating the exterior.

Working with allotment holders, we repaired and restored the original features in these rare survivals.

Led and part funded by Warwick District Council in partnership with the West Midlands Historic Buildings Trust (WMHBT) this project will see two of Warwick’s most important buildings, recognised to be of national and local historic and architectural significance, brought back to life.

Located in Saltisford, a short walk from the town centre, this scheduled ancient monument site of a medieval l***r hospital contains two (15th / 16th century) grade II* listed buildings which are on the Historic England Heritage at Risk Register.

Proposals are for both remaining buildings to be sympathetically and carefully restored for affordable residential use, with St Michael’s Chapel converted into a one-bed house and the ‘Master’s House’ converted into a two-bed family home.

Paul Daly is an artist and filmmaker whose work explores identity, belonging, memory and mortality through analogue moving image.

Working predominantly on 16mm film, he has spent the past decade documenting contemporary England during a period of significant social and political transformation.

No experience needed and all ages welcome, children must be supervised. If you do not have a camera phone or camera please let us know in advance so we can arrange one for you [email protected]

Meet outside The Weavers House at 10am. Please wear weather appropriate clothing as we will be outdoors for the duration.
