Kairos Women Working Together

Kairos Women Working Together Supporting, advocating for, and empowering marginalised women to increase their safety, self-belief, and self-reliance since 1999.

Kairos Women Working Together (Kairos) was established in 1999 and is a specialist organisation in Coventry run by women, for women. We provide holistic, trauma informed, long term support and advocacy for women who are subject to or at risk of sexual exploitation; including women who face multiple disadvantage and have ‘complex’ unmet needs. We empower women to increase their safety, stability, s

elf-belief, and self-reliance; improve their choices and life chances, and build fulfilled lives, free from violence, abuse, and exploitation.

‘Kairos’ is an ancient Greek word meaning ‘the right, critical, or opportune moment for the accomplishment of crucial action’. In Greek mythology, Kairos was the god of opportunity. We meet women where they are at, until the time is right for them to take action towards their goals. We provide options and create opportunities, supporting women to accomplish the change they want for their lives.

We recently had a really productive meeting with Gemma from Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. 🌿💚

We’re really excited about the possibilities of working together and bringing more opportunities for connection with nature into the lives of the women we support.

Gemma will be coming into the Women’s Hub to meet some of the women, hear what they’re interested in and talk about ways they could get involved in the work she does locally.

We know how powerful spending time outdoors, connecting with nature and being part of the local community can be. We’re looking forward to exploring what this partnership could bring and creating opportunities for women to get involved in something new, at their own pace. 🌱

Partnerships like this help us connect women with opportunities beyond our Hub and strengthen the wider community around them.

💜💚 We are delighted to share that Kairos Women Working Together has secured an allocation of £530,135 through the Government’s Ending Homelessness in Communities Fund 2026 to 2029, subject to successful completion of the Grant Funding Agreement.

This funding will enable us to expand the provision available each day at the Kairos Women’s Hub. Women will be able to access open-access support, groups, activities and opportunities, alongside more dedicated time and specialist expertise from partner organisations.

We will be working with our Coventry Women’s Partnership partners- Central England Law Centre, Coventry Haven Women's Aid , CRASAC, and FWT - a centre for women-alongside Panahghar and other specialist local partners.

Bringing services into Kairos is an approach that has proved effective for some time. This funding will allow us to develop it further, offering a practical, women-centred response to some of the systemic barriers women face. By bringing support together in a trusted women-only space, we can make it easier for women to get the help they need without having to navigate disconnected services alone.

This investment towards addressing women's homelessness matters because it is not always visible. It can include sofa surfing, moving between unsafe or temporary arrangements, or remaining somewhere harmful because there is nowhere else to go.

Learning from the expanded provision will also feed directly into Coventry Women’s Partnership as it takes action on housing for women through its targeted systems-change programme. Women’s experiences and evidence from frontline delivery will help show what works and support wider changes to housing policy, practice, commissioning and legislation.

We are proud to be taking this work forward with partners across Coventry- building on what already works and creating more opportunities for women to access the right support, in the right place, at the right time.

We’re always learning at Kairos, so we’re really proud to celebrate a recent achievement. 💚

Between November and April, our Specialise Housing Practitioner, Claire, completed the Level 3 Certificate in Providing Homelessness Services with the Chartered Institute of Housing.

It was a great opportunity to build on Claire's knowledge and understanding homelessness, the challenges women face and the support available to help women move forward.

Claire said, "learning alongside the work we do at Kairos has been particularly valuable, helping me to bring new knowledge and understanding into the support we provide every day."

A big thank you to the Chartered Institute of Housing for delivering such an informative course.

Partnership working is such an important part of what we do at Kairos. 💚

Once a month, Sam, an Outreach Nurse from the Sexual Health Clinic, joins us at the Women’s Hub to spend time with the women we support.

Sam is able to offer support during our Blossoms sessions, making sexual health support more accessible to women in a space where they already feel comfortable and safe.

Having professionals come to the Hub means women can access different types of support without having to navigate another service or appointment on their own.

We’re really grateful to Sam for being part of our partnership network and for the time, care and support she gives to the women we work with.

A few weeks ago, Flori, one of our practitioners, attended training delivered by CGL, continuing to build knowledge and develop skills. 💚

Training like this is a really important part of our work. It gives us the opportunity to learn, reflect and strengthen our understanding, while also connecting with other professionals and building those important partnership relationships.

Good partnership working means sharing knowledge, learning from each other and ultimately making sure women can access the right support when they need it.

Always learning, always developing. 🌿

💚 Donations needed 💚

Our donations make such a difference to the women who come through our doors.

We’re currently looking for donations to help us keep our cupboards stocked and make sure we can provide women with the essentials they need when they come to the Women’s Hub.

Whether it’s toiletries, food, period products, snacks or other everyday essentials, every donation helps us offer practical support when it’s needed most.

If you’re able to donate, please get in touch with us. Even a small donation can make a real difference. 💚

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Kairos and the women we work alongside. Your generosity really does matter.

Last week we had the opportunity to spend some time with Coventry Youth Justice Service at a wellbeing session for their girls’ group. 💚

The day was all about wellbeing, connection and having a bit of time away from the pressures of everyday life. There was a sound bath, journaling and a lovely skincare session, as well as time spent outdoors on the farm meeting and feeding the animals. 🐴

For us, it was also a really valuable opportunity to build relationships. Partnership working is such an important part of what we do at Kairos, and spending time getting to know the young women we may support in the future, while giving them the chance to get to know us, is a really important first step.

We’re looking forward to continuing to build strong relationships with Coventry Youth Justice Service and other partners, so that young women can access the right support when they need it.

Thank you to Coventry Youth Justice Service for inviting us along and creating such a positive space for the girls.

Keeping women safe and cared for during the heatwave. ☀️💚

When temperatures rise, the simplest things can make a big difference.

We’ve been making sure women coming into the Hub have access to cold water and sunscreen, helping them stay hydrated and protected from the sun during the hot weather.

It’s all part of the little things we can do to make sure the Women’s Hub remains a safe, welcoming and supportive space — whatever the weather. 💧☀️

🎨✨ A lovely morning of creativity at Blossoms! ✨🎨

Today we enjoyed some relaxing rock painting, with one mum describing the activity as “very therapeutic.” It was wonderful to have a little time to slow down and get creative.

While the mums got stuck into their painting, the babies had just as much fun! 🥰 They enjoyed playing, exploring and getting to know each other too.

It was such a lovely opportunity for mums and babies to connect, have fun and enjoy some quality time together. 🌸💚

No two days at our Women's Hub ever look the same.

Throughout the week, women come through our doors needing all kinds of support. For some, it's a hot drink and something to eat. For others, it's a safe place to rest for a while, a change of clothes, or someone to sit alongside them as they work through a difficult day.

Sometimes the support we offer takes just a few minutes. Sometimes it means spending the whole day together, helping a woman navigate appointments, making phone calls, accessing emergency support.

We meet women where they are at, responding to what they need in that moment, and reminding them they don't have to face things alone.

Thank you to everyone who helps make our Women's Hub a place of safety, compassion and hope. 💚
