We are based at the Radford Road Army Reserve Centre, Coventry and meet Tuesday and Friday 19.00 - 21.30.

We were proud last week to welcome Wing Commander (Retired) Mills to present some BTec certificates to CI Dhayaparan, Sgt Myles and Cpl Peramunugamage. We were also proud to receive this message from him afterwards.

"Dear Julie,

It was lovely to see everyone last night, and a real pleasure to present the three BTEC Diplomas. (OC Wing will present the remaining awards at the AFI.)

2286 Squadron has an absolutely magnificent recent record of achievement — 14 BTEC Diplomas and 3 Extended Certificates, together with 2 ILM Level 3 Awards. This is unequalled by any Squadron in the Region, let alone the Wing, and is a real reflection of the positive “can do” spirit that is so evident throughout 2286.

Please pass on my congratulations to everyone involved. These achievements are a credit to both the cadets and the team supporting them."

📝 On this day in 2021, the University of Northampton released a landmark report on the value of Cadets.

The report highlighted a significant return on investment in the Cadet Forces, noting that the Cadet experience provides potentially life-changing opportunities for career progression and vocational qualifications. This leads to improved career prospects for individuals who may not have traditional educational qualifications 🎓

📈 Five years later, the positive impact of being a Cadet or Adult Volunteer continues to be evident. Last year, the Government launched a new ‘30 by 30’ campaign to expand Cadet opportunities for a new generation.
