COMMUNITY FIRST HOLBROOKS WARD
Update June 2013

Dear Panel Members

Due to things running smoothly and no new applications there will not be a panel meeting for HCF on 19th June. The two applications discussed at the last meeting have been progressed with the queries around match funding sorted out and both have been submitted to CDF. The Holbrooksonline website has been updated as per CDF requirements.

Date of the next panel meetings are:-

24th July 2013
25th September 2013

All meetings are held at Holbrooks Community Care Association, Holbrook lane, at 1.30pm

NB: for applications to be considered at any panel meeting they must be submitted one week before the date of the panel. Either email your application to [email protected] or drop it into the centre.

Year 2 projects Holbrooks Community First has funded:-

Coventry 13th Scouts – A gazebo for outdoor events
Holbrooks Christmas party – Community Christmas event
Coventrians Rugby Football club – towards replacing floodlights and netting
St Lukes Church Hall – new windows
Holbrooks Whist club – room hire costs for the card players
5 C,s Computer club – twice weekly Informal ICT group for older people

Year 1 projects Holbrooks Community First has funded:-

Nunts Lane residents group :- Planters to improve the area
Holbrooks Youth Centre – broadband access
Holbrooks Community centre – groups for older people
Holbrooks community Care Association – employment support service

Holbrooks Youth Centre in Partnership with Holbrooks Community Centre are looking to employ a part time
Youth and Community Worker
For 25 hours per week
Hours to be worked flexibly including some evenings and weekends
Salary range: £19,047- £21,525 pro rata
1 year fixed term contract in the first instance
Fun and innovative team member required to lead existing youth clubs and holiday schemes at the Old Library in Holbrook. To be responsible for the youth and community centres, development and delivery of youth programmes, in response to the needs of young people aged 8-25 and for the benefit of the wider community; development and delivery of the community centre programme in response to changing community needs.
Closing date for applications 1st November
Interview dates Tuesday 6th November for stage 1 formal interview and if successful at this stage you will be asked to complete stage 2 of the interview; attending a youth club session with the children and young people where you will be observed.
This will take place on the evening of Thursday 8th November between 6.00 and 7.30pm for a maximum of 30 minutes.
This post involves working with children, vulnerable adults or is a position of trust and is therefore exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
