Army Reserve - 159 Regiment RLC 159 Regiment is the premier Army Reserve Regiment of the Royal Logistic Corps based in the Midlands.

159 Regiment RLC has undergone seismic change during 2014. The Regiment is now primarily focussed in the West Midlands, with the R

egimental Headquarters in Coventry and Squadron locations in Coventry, West Bromwich, Burton upon Trent and Stoke. The Regiment also have a Squadron located in Grantham, in the East Midlands. The personal qualities, such as fitness, self-discipline and leadership, which are taught by the British Army are the envy of the world. We place a high value on initiative and team work as a Regiment and dedicate specific training time to developing our soldiers' leadership skills - skills which they use on a daily basis in their regular employment to get ahead. Our challenging training programme develops and pushes individuals to become fitter, more confident and more robust. The technical training qualifies soldiers in the highest technical standards to be able to move, store, maintain and issue every item required to support the Army in all conditions. These practical skills place our Reservists at the forefront of their trade and allow those employed in the Logistics' sector to remain ahead of the game. Following completion of basic soldier training, all Reservists learn a trade qualification, in our unit we specialise in providing highly qualified Logistic Specialist (Supply) soldiers, although we have many other trades including Chefs, Physical Training Instructors, Drivers and Administrators. From the Gym to Cyprus — Meet Pte Lauren Ashbourne!

When Pte Lauren Ashbourne joined 243 Sqn, 159 Regiment RLC, she never imagined she’d be representing the UK Armed Forces overseas. After winning the squat event at the Inter-Service Powerlifting Championships with a 162.5kg lift, she went on to compete internationally in Cyprus, securing 2nd place in her category.

Lauren says her Army Reserve journey has given her incredible opportunities — from travel and teamwork to personal growth:

“I’ve met amazing people and achieved things I never thought possible.”

From muddy tracks to podium places – there’s no stopping Pte Lancaster of 159 Regiment, 237 Squadron. 🏆

At the latest RLC Enduro event in Barton Stacey, he left the competition eating dust – storming to 1st place in the Clubman category with a blistering 6 minutes 18 seconds.

Thirty riders, eight sprint sessions, five categories… but only one Lancaster at the top.

A massive achievement and a proud moment for the Regiment. 👏
