This is a page to promote the work done by Porthoustock Coastguard Rescue Team and to show people what we do and who we are. We deal with Maritime and Coastal emergencies however, due to specialising in Search and Rescue (SAR) we have the versatility to respond to inland incidents as well.

🚨Tasking Sunday 27 September 🚨

Team paged alongside our flank team Mullion Coastguard Rescue Team to assist a casualty who had started climbing the rocks and got stuck at Polpeor Cove, The Lizard. Due to the casualty’s location, the Coastguard Helicopter 🚁 attended to winch the casualty down to safety.

A successful job celebrated with a generous supply of coffee and cream teas from the lovely people Wavecrest Lizard Point. Many thanks to all involved.

Today our team have been in Falmouth alongside Coastguard colleagues from all over Cornwall and from a wide range of emergency services, supporting the evacuation of the exclusion zone around an unexploded bomb discovered in the water near Falmouth Docks on Monday.

Great training session last night refreshing our casualty care skills with colleagues from Falmouth Coastguard. Basic life support for all ages, how to cope with severe allergic reactions, casualty handovers and much more all totally up-to-date now. Lots of us have been doing this for years; but every time we have a refresher session there is so much to learn; with new, improved techniques. Thanks to all the team and senior officers for a productive evening.
