Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance responded to 225 emergencies last month. July included:

🚁 122 missions by air
🚗 103 missions by road
🕓 10am was our busiest hour
📅 Friday was our busiest day of the week

Every emergency they responded to and every patient they attended was only possible because of your generous support for their charity. Thank you for helping them respond to the next mission. 💚

A few places saw 1-2mm overnight but many spots even missed this!

There were also a few flashes and distant rumbles of thunder, but again the bulk of this missed to the west, east and also to the north where it redeveloped.

We will see a lot of cloud and the odd shower at first but brighter spells will gradually develop. Tomorrow will see a mix of sun and cloud.

The satellite view shows the cloud very well indeed, but also those gaps slowly moving in from the south 🙂

🌊 Join Us for the Great British Beach Clean! 🌊

Cowes Town Council, Gurnard Parish Council and Planet Aware is proud to be supporting the Great British Beach Clean (GBBC), and we're inviting residents of all ages to get involved in a fantastic community clean-up.

📦 New Food Bank Collection Point at Northwood House.

We're pleased to support Isle of Wight foodbank with a new donation collection point at Northwood House.

If you'd like to help local people and families in need, you can leave donations in the Foodbank collection crate, located just inside the St Mary's entrance to the house.

Every donation, big or small, makes a difference.

🚧 Advance Notice: Temporary Footpath Closure in East Cowes 🚧

Please be aware that Cowes & East Cowes Footpath 24 in East Cowes will be temporarily closed for footpath repair works between Monday 7 September and Tuesday 8 September 2026 (for one work shift, or until the works are completed).

📍 The footpath will be closed for its entire length.
🚶 Alternative routes will be clearly signposted on site.
🔧 The closure is necessary to allow essential footpath repairs to be carried out safely.

Cowes Yacht Haven can’t wait to welcome the GoGPS Cowes International Powerboat Festival to Cowes Yacht Haven this August Bank Holiday!🏁

Taking place from 28-30 August, the weekend will see a fleet of powerboats descend on Cowes, ahead of the iconic Cowes-Torquay-Cowes and Cowes-Poole-Cowes races on Sunday.
Don’t forget to head down to CYH for one of the best spots to get up close to these boats!
