Emergency Road Closure - Jarvis Lane, Goudhurst - 12th October 2026 (Tunbridge Wells)

It will be necessary to close Jarvis Lane, Goudhurst from 12th October 2026 for up to 3 days.

The road will be closed outside Cherry Gardens Farm Oast.

The alternative route is via Jarvis Lane, Ladham Road, B2084 Chequers Road, Jarvis Lane, and reverse.

This is to repair a leak on or near ferrule to be carried out by South East Water.

Enclosed is a copy of the Traffic Notice in confirmation of this.

🍄 Fungi season has arrived and we will be hosting a fungi walk again this year at Cinderhill Wood, Matfield!

Join ourselves and local expert David Warwick on Saturday 17th October for a lovely walk around Cinderhill Wood where we will discuss and chat about all the fungi we come across.

🌌 Dark Skies at the Bale House ✨

We’re looking forward to an evening celebrating the wonder of our dark skies at the Bale House Visitor Centre in Hastings Country Park.

On Friday 16 October, 6–9pm, discover more about the night sky with presentations on Light Less See More, stargazing with the Fairlight and Sussex Sidewalk Astronomy Groups, and a Dark Skies Walk.

Weather permitting, we might even spot a shooting star! 🌠

The event is now fully booked, but you can still join the waiting list in case spaces become available.

It will be necessary to close Summerhill, Goudhurst from 9th October 2026 for up to 8 days.

The road will be closed between Stream Farm and Bridgeways.

The alternative route is via B2079 Goudhurst Road, B2079 Winchet Hill, B2079 Summer Hill, B2079 North Road, B2084 Chequers Road, A262 Cranbrook Road, A262 Goudhurst Road, A229 Wilsley Pound,, A229 The common, A229 Camden Hill, A229 Rocks Hill, A229 Knoxbridge. A229 Cranbrook Road, A229 High Street, A229 Station Road, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Staplehurst Road, B2079 Maidstone Road, B2079 High Street, B2079 Church Green, B2079 West End, and vice versa.

This is to enable urgent tankering to mitigate pollution to be carried out by Southern Water.

There will be roadworks at Tunbridge Wells Hospital on Friday 9 October.

Between midday and 3.30pm there will be temporary traffic lights and traffic management at the main entrance road to the hospital.

This may cause delays entering and leaving the hospital site so please plan ahead and leave extra time for your journey.
