Busy week for the crew this week, finishing with last night’s exercise using our specialist appliance, the Light Pumping Unit. 🚒

The exercise focused on providing a reliable water supply for neighbouring stations Ludlow Fire Station, Clun Fire Station and Bishops Castle whilst they carried out BA operations in cosmetic smoke conditions.

Training like this helps keep crews prepared, builds teamwork between stations and ensures we are always ready when needed. 👨‍🚒💦

Great training exercise tonight working alongside our colleagues from over the border on a Water Fire Responder drill. 🚒

Exercises like these are invaluable for strengthening teamwork, communication, and operational response, ensuring we are ready to work together when it matters most.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for their professionalism and commitment, and a special thanks to Leintwardine Fire Station and Leominster Fire Station for inviting us along. 👏🌊

This weekend, our Watch Manager Norgrove and his son Jed will be taking on the London Marathon, running in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust. 🏃‍♂️💨

This cause is incredibly close to their hearts. Jason’s other son, Owen , was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in January 2024. With the outstanding care and support of his medical team, friends, family, and the Teenage Cancer Trust, he has since received the all-clear. 🎗️

This run is Jason’s way of saying thank you for the support his family received during such a difficult time. As he would say himself, it will never feel like enough but the hope is that their efforts can help ensure other families facing a similar journey receive the same vital support in the future.

We are incredibly proud of them both and wish them the very best of luck for the London Marathon this weekend. 🏁🏅

As we look back on 2025, it was a busy year serving our local community.

We welcomed FF Howard and FF Peace to the team and sadly said goodbye to CM Nicholson and FF Roberts — thank you both for your dedicated service 🤝🏻.

We also welcome FF Staves, who begins his training this year — good luck 🍀.

🚒 Movember Update! 🚒

We’re now two-thirds of the way through Movember, and let’s just say… some of the moustaches are thriving, and some are definitely still “in progress” 😅.

But every ‘tache’ no matter how wispy or magnificent is growing for a reason.
Movember is an amazing charity that supports men’s mental health, su***de prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

Behind every moustache is a reminder to look out for one another and to start conversations that matter.

Tonight marks the last drill night for CM Bond. 🚒

Bondy is sadly leaving us and taking his well earnt retirement from the fire service in the new year.
