Cllr Tim Charters Reform UK

Councillor for Southgate for Crawley Borough Council. Councillor for Southgate & Gossops Green for West Sussex County Council and Group Leader.

My career has been in software engineering. I've worked in events media, in finance and currently in defence where I manage a project, architect the solutions and write the code. I've spent the last 20 years facing complex problems and solving them. I have been living in Crawley since 2016 and lived in Surrey before that. I voted Leave in the 2016 referendum. I've never regretted that vote nor the

following times we had to hammer the point home to our political class. Like so many others I voted for Boris in the hope that we had an optimistic, British patriot who would champion our people, our country and our values and reverse the downward trends we all experienced. Like so many others I have now seen what the Conservative party has become. It's cliché to say this is the most important election of our lifetimes but in recent history each one has been the case. I will never give up on Britain, her values, people and history. With a strong reform of our institutions, we will save Britain. My priorities for Crawley will primarily be to improve access to doctors and dentists and to further support the police in addressing the growing crime with more convictions and incarcerations. Party policies work extremely well for Crawley and I will carry those through with unending determination and a side of stubbornness. Oh, and fix the damn potholes.

Well done Labour! You've ramped up the deportations of ... *checks notes* Poland.

Yet small boat migrants are all but ignored.

Like Patrick says: "it's beyond a joke, this".

Must watch.

I'm so very behind on my social media - again!

A couple of weeks ago I joined Urban Footpath Problems on a wheelchair experience, both pushing and being pushed, around Crawley.

It's quite an eye-opening experience. Things you may not notice or see as a minor inconvenience can be really quite a hurdle for those of us with mobility problems.

See the drain in the picture? That's dangerous to all feet, especially delicate ones, and an absolute hazard to anyone on wheels.

Some of the drop curbs are like drop cliffs. Then there's the constant tilt of some pavements that give a tremendous one-armed workout when pushing a wheelchair.

Realistically we're not going to dig up and replace every pavement that's tricky, but we can set a new standard for new works done. That's the goal of this group. I'm looking forward to seeing their proposed standards to see if we can make this national.

Thank you Martyn for showing me.

We will not pretend that women are perfectly safe around Crawley. It will take a Reform government to fix our justice, policing and prisons as well as control our borders to fix it properly.

However, we decided we couldn't wait that long. If we can provide this to you now, it may well save some women from harassment and give a little more confidence as they go about their daily lives.

This class does not require any level of fitness. As the instructor told me "the goal is for you to get home safe". Often that doesn't require ninja-moves, but instead situational awareness, de-escalation and avoidance. There will still be some physical techniques taught too.

You *may* even get to hit me or one of our Reform men, but I will leave that to our instructor to decide. What's not to like?

The illegal migration crisis has led to a critically high demand on all our public services, from doctors to schools to housing and more. The crimes committed are so numerous and shocking that an adult of 30 years ago would weep at what is happening to our women and children today. Every good member of our society suffers.

We recently announced our Operation Fortress policy, where we will use the Royal Navy to rescue boats from the channel and return them to France. This is legal despite the false cries of the establishment uniparty and has the backing of numerous Royal Navy officials.

Today Zia Yusuf has announced an HMRC crackdown, including more powers and support to local government to tackle illegal working - v**e shops, barbers, sweet shops are named as prime targets. Those employing illegal workers or conducting criminal activity in our high streets will be thwarted.

Reform will mobilise all aspects of the state to do what it is meant to do: protect the British people.

Meanwhile, we in Crawley and West Sussex Reform are working to resist, slow and deter the effects of this crisis. Labour, Tories, LibDems and Greens are united in their resistance of us putting you first, but we fight on regardless.

I went to visit the site of the recent fire at Ash Keys and offered help to the people remaining there. These photos show the damage and on one picture you can even see the ash blowing in the wind.

I've given advice on how one resident can get emergency accommodation through their landlord's insurance, and have chased up a concern about trees in council land that will need removing.

I'm very pleased to say no one was hurt and that praise was given to the council for how speedy and helpful they were in helping the victims involved. Well done Crawley Borough Council and well done to the fire service!

A group of us went to Clacton yesterday to join the campaign for Nigel.

The sheer number of garden signs covering everywhere we went was awesome and inspiring! There are beautiful British flags on every street and the whole town is buzzing and cheerful.

What a great day!

The invasion happening on the Spanish enclave of Ceuta is, in my opinion, an orchestrated event. Fifty thousand men do not spontaneously breach a border. It required planning, logistics, communications and most importantly: motivations.

There have been different revolutions in warfare: from spears to swords and shields to muskets to cannon, tanks, aircraft and more recently cyber. Another war has been raging for a few decades at least: culture. Not the standard term you may hear of "culture war" describing podcasters complaining at each other, but one of targeted, deliberate manipulation of the values of another society over many decades. Suicidal empathy is a symptom (or perhaps an enemy victory) of that culture war. An undermined people makes their state a soft target.

This then enabled what looks to me like another new kind of warfare: migration. I do believe we are at war, however invaders like this are not the soldiers, they are the ammunition being fired at our society in an attempt to destroy it.

Green Party leader shares this post where the T-shirt depicts plans to execute Nigel Farage. This French invention was most famously used in the Reign of Terror during the French revolution. How appropriate.

To those in Crawley in the Green Party or their supporters - do you deplore this act? Should the law apply equally and see Zack arrested for this?
