Our next Friday evening social meeting is this week, on 22nd May at 7pm in Clover’s , 100 High Street, Crediton.

This month we will be discussing traditional May customs in Devon - maypole dancing, hobby horses, why the rhyme about gathering nuts makes no sense and more! We're hoping to screen some old film (and not so old) film footage too.

Tickets are free - if possible please book a place at bit.ly/flaevents but otherwise turn up on the night. A full Clover's cafe menu will be available.

Today is Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday! 🌍

For over 70 years, he has inspired us to see the world more clearly, care for it more deeply, and protect the natural wonders we too often overlook. Growing up with his documentaries ignited my interest in nature and taught me so much of the wildlife knowledge I have today. He was a big inspiration to me in creating my children’s book character, Verdy.

Needless to say, I was so incredibly honoured to have Sir David Attenborough endorse my book last year, “Verdy; A Seed for change in the City”. After my publishers sent him a copy of my book, he then sent a handwritten letter back. I was speechless and so deeply grateful. He is an inspiration and has been a huge figure in my life from an early age, shaping the love and passion I have for the natural world today.

Let’s celebrate everything that Sir David Attenborough has given to our planet.
Happy birthday to you, Sir David Attenborough! 💚

We're busily working away in Tanners Yard today, cataloguing, rearranging - and enjoying some of the gorgeous books in our collections. This venerable volume is part of a set, and the marbling on its endpapers is beautiful.

If you're passing, pop in for a chat and a cuppa! We're here today (Weds 6th) until 4pm.
