Save Crewe Pool & Fitness Centre Working to save the historic Flag Lane Baths site in Crewe

Hi all,
There will be times when this page is quiet but be assured things are happening in the background.
We are currently waiting for the Council to send over their Draft Heads of Terms. This document will then be discussed by the legal teams.
Arrangements are also being made for our grounds team to attend to the site and tidy it up externally.

I knew i'd miss someone off my thanks page:-

Grant and Ricky - both gents know who they are and how much support they have given to myself over the past 12 months.
Thankyou guys.

I will also thank my family as I know i've been a pain for the last year in working to get to this.

I am also going to pay thanks to a gentleman who many years ago taught me on being a Manager and how to fight properly to get what you want and how be firm but fair. He will know who he is.

Update - so this morning I have had a meeting with the council estates team to go through the disposal process and next steps. All positive.
Work is on-going behind the scenes ready for the legal teams to do their bits.
I would now ask for a bit of patience. We all want this building back open but it has to be done right. I will of course keep you all up to date on all developments and you will see work happening as soon as we can.
We went into this project with 3 aims:-
1. To save the building from being demolished
2. To see people back using it
3. To see people back swimming in it again
Over the next period of time we will be working to deliver all of these 3 aims. We have achieved number 1. Points 2 and 3 are in place and work is happening to deliver them but its a big project and needs time.
The new Flag Lane site will not only see new Health & Leisure but also more community space and educational use as well as new activities never been seen there before like Padel Tennis.

Hi all
As promised yesterday, it is right and proper that we pay our thanks to the people who have helped to get us to where we currently are. In no particular order (and hopefully I don't forget anyone):-
1. Graham Bebbington - Graham attended a councilors surgery last November. He and I were attending together although he got there before me. Graham has shown support all through and regularly championed Save the Baths on the ACE fb pages and beyond.
2. Cllr Brian Silvester - cllr Brian helped us back in September to kick forward publicly and start shouting. Throughout, cllr Brian has continuously championed our ideas.
3. Cllr Dawn Clark - cllr Dawn has been a pillar of strength right through since November. She has always been available where she could and has worked tirelessly as our councilor to get what's best for Crewe people and she is very passionate about this building.
4. MP Connor Naismith - Our MP has met with us and replied to many e-mails about the baths project offering his advice and support. Understandably being cautious but always wanting the baths to be re-used for the community and not demolished.

Obviously there are many other people who have played their part (Jen, Lee, Peter, Charles, Tony, David, Mark, Paul, Ricky, Grant, Jamie and many contractors) so a huge thanks to everyone.
And thanks to my board of directors including James Bellis as he and I have been working on this for over 12 months.
I'll post again shortly.

Huge update - Cheshire East Council has already released their press release but here is my message recorded a couple of hours ago following the official photo.
I will put much more info on here over the next few days

Lots of work going on. That's 2 great meetings with potential partners this week in addition to draft agreement reached with a Padel provider too.
