Golf has been played at Crieff since 1891, and while the club has evolved over the years, the quality of the golf and the surrounding Perthshire views remain untouched.

Did you know golf in Crieff dates back to 1891? ⛳️

The club originally started as a modest 9-hole course laid out by Old Tom Morris, before moving to the Ferntower grounds. The layout was later designed by Robert Simpson of Carnoustie and opened in 1914, with further refinements made by James Braid in 1924.

Eagle-eyed golfers playing the 14th hole today can even spot the remains of the old Ferntower House tucked in the trees beside the tee. While the club has grown into a 27-hole facility over the years, the classic routing and views across the Strathearn Valley remain a big part of playing here.

🏌️‍♂️⛳ A Proud Moment for Crieff Golf Club!

We were once again delighted to host the annual PGA in Scotland Year One Trainee Induction Day, welcoming the next generation of golf professionals as they take their first steps towards a career in the golfing industry.

This year was particularly special for us as our very own Callum Porter was among the new trainees, beginning his exciting journey towards becoming a PGA Professional! 👏

The day provided a fantastic introduction to the PGA covering education, tournaments, career pathways and the many opportunities available within the profession with valuable advice and experiences shared by leading PGA representatives.

At Crieff Golf Club we are incredibly proud of our commitment to developing young golfing talent and it is particularly rewarding to see one of our own taking this important step towards a career in the sport.

A huge congratulations to Callum! We are all extremely proud of you and look forward to following your progress as you embark on this exciting new chapter. 🌟

We wish Callum and all the new trainees every success on their PGA journey.

We are passionate about creating a clear pathway from first shots to competitive play, with coaching environments designed for all abilities. We are also committed to opening up the game for young female players, offering direct connections into our wider Ladies Section so girls have clear role models and opportunities to progress.

The clocks go back in less than two weeks but there is still plenty of daylight to get out on the course.

Both courses are in great condition right now, making it the perfect time to book a round. Good luck to everyone playing in our final open of the season today, the Open 2 Person Texas Scramble on the Ferntower course.

The layout is in fantastic condition and set up for a brilliant day of team golf.

If you are stopping by after your round, Michelle and the team have the clubhouse ready at Restaurant 1891 for some post round drinks and hot food.
