Today is the first meteorological day of summer. What an amazing half term we have had, the weather has been incredible. Sadly we have lost a lot of predominantly young people that have simply dived into the sea, lakes and rivers totally unprepared and without supervision. Please please think about what you are doing. The dangers are cold water shock, objects beneath the waterline that you simply can't see, tidal strength and many more hazards. Swim responsibly, it could cost you your life. There are many open water clubs in the Norwich area which is the safest way to swim. Our condolences go out to the many heartbroken families that have lost there loved ones during half term. Congratulations to Malachi who has passed his watchkeeper assessment and was handed his certificate and epaulettes by station manager Richard Leeds. Malachi is our youngest watchkeeper and it`s refreshing to have a young person on the team. He already volunteers with St Johns ambulance and he is studying as well but found the time to train with us and become a valuable member of our team. He is a brilliant example of what you can achieve if you put in the time and effort. If you are a student or can put in a few hours per week then come and see us, not only will you learn a new set of skills but it will look great on your CV. Showing a prospective employer that you are adaptable, can learn new skills and work as part of a team is a great addition to your CV. Well done Malachi and welcome to team NCI Cromer. A very busy week of fundraising. We did both days of the Crab and Lobster festival last weekend and the predicted rain held off and a collection at Morrisons Cromer today. We had enquires from several people about joining our ranks and once again many thanks to all those that donated and joined in the fun of our tombola. A very busy but fun week with many thanks to our hard working team. Eyes Along the Coast.

This weekend is Cromer Crab and Lobster festival with lots going on and fun for all. We will be there on Evington Green all weekend where you can both find out about us and what we do and indeed see if you would like to join our team and also have a go at our tombola with great prizes. What a wonderful day at Horning Boat show. The sun shone and it was very well attended. We both fund raised and passed on safety information and hopefully encouraged a few people to come and join our ranks. It really was a lovely well organised event. Many thanks to Roger and Sarah and the committee of the show for allowing us to attend. Many thanks also to our fund raising team for all there hard work. For future reference it is on every other year and is a fantastic family event. Combine it with a visit to Bewilderwood and it makes a great day out. Stay safe, Eyes Along the Coast.
