ACTIVITY: Who fancies a game of bowls?

Active Norfolk are leading a new initiative at Cromer Marrams Bowls Club and Mundesley Haig Bowls Club, and are extending you a warm welcome to Bowl For Health!

Bowl for Health is a FREE 8-week, inclusive bowls programme designed to support adults (typically aged 40+) who may be living with long-term health conditions, experiencing physical inactivity, or feeling socially isolated. Sessions are friendly, flexible, and combine bowls with opportunities to socialise.

If you, or anyone you know might enjoy the sessions, you can sign up via:

FLY-TIP: A man has admitted to a fly-tip that occurred on Horsefen Road in Ludham.

The man dumped bags of household waste, including broken furniture, into containers clearly designated for moor-users only.

Everyone has a duty of care to dispose of their waste correctly, and mis-use of non-public bins is an offence.

Various typical household waste can be disposed of free of charge at a recycling centre, which are open 7 days a week.

The man paid a fixed penalty notice of £200.

ART COMPETITON: Thank you to everyone who entered our School Art Competition to create a work of art on Cromer Prom.

We were absolutely blown away with all the submissions, so much so that it was impossible to choose just one winner.

So, in collaboration with the very talented artist who is going to create the lasting artwork, we have decided to take design inspiration from ALL the entries and create a work with captures something from everyone’s brilliant ideas and images.

In the coming months we’re going to stage an exhibition with all the entries and then a grand unveiling of the finished work around November.

Keep an eye out for more details!

CROMER PIER: Thank you to everyone who braved the weather for the Party on the Pier - even the sun eventually came out to wish it a Happy Birthday 🎉

Cromer Pier's 125 years of bringing spectacle & performance wouldn't be complete without an array of colour, fun and excitement, so a special thanks to all the wonderful performers! Olly Day, Bowjangles, The Sheringham Shantymen, Plan B Productions Ltd, Cromer Academy and Connections Entertainment & Event Management and of course, the Cromer Town Cryer 🔔

LICENSING: Most leisure activities require some form of licence, so as a district with a large tourism-driven economy, a lot of work goes into ensuring our residents and visitors remain safe when enjoying pubs, restaurants, entertainment venues and campsites.

Find out more about the Council's licensing responsibilities: bit.ly/4uWHdId

Day 3 of National Licensing Week is Home and Family.

The school run, the weekend market, the family day out, the campsite, the cinema, the puppy from a licensed breeder. Everyday life is full of licensing and most people never realise it.

It works quietly in the background, protecting families, animals and communities. When it works well, nobody thinks about it. When it fails, everyone does.
Today we recognise the people who keep it working.

WOODLANDS: Over the past few days, our Rangers have been visited by a very friendly black cat. Unfortunately, we've recently filled our Countryside Ranger position, so cannot employ him.

If any one recognises him, or is missing a black cat in or around Holt, he is safe and sound at North Norfolk Cats Lifeline Trust - contact them via northnorfolkcats.co.uk 🐈‍⬛

CROMER PIER: Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate the Pier’s 125th birthday!

Despite some questionable weather early on (it wouldn’t be the British seaside without it would it?) the sun did shine as people came from far and wide to enjoy incredible performances and take a trip down memory lane.

The Pier means different things to different people, from treasured childhood memories to kick-starting careers in showbiz, yesterday’s tribute marked the occasion with joy, flair and togetherness.

Here’s to 125 more years of our iconic landmark!
