Family Fun Day
Saturday 15th August 2026

The long awaited day for the Annual Family Fun Day on Willington Town Green came on Saturday.

There was donkeys, giant Inflatables, giant board games, rodeo sheep, giant deck chair and sandpit, circus skills workshop, face painting, stalls, food vendors, fairground rides, games and activities, free ice cream, popcorn and candy floss plus more.

Grateful thanks to The Fun Experts for the wide range of activities, inflatables and sweet treats, Beacon Traffic Management for providing the Road Closure for free which allowed us to extend the activities we provided, Complete Security for team who looked after us all throughout the day, Long Ears Donkey Centre - Home of Blackberry Donkeys for bringing along their beloved animals for lots of love and care, Cave Pod, and North East Play Bus for the adventures, William H Clark & Son Funfairs for the thrills and rides, St John Ambulance for providing medical cover, Ipee Loo Hire for toilet facilities, Nursery Time for the use of their sandpit and toys, all stallholders and food vendors, for their contributions to the day.

We would like to thank Believe Housing Limited for their funding contributions towards the event and attending to host a stall.

Thanks are also extended to Foster Opticians Willington, Caitlin’s Sweet Treats & Cakes, Jimmys Fish Grill Bags-O-Craft, Golden Fish Inn - Willington, Britton & Robson, The Queens Head Willington, EMMYS Durham, Coffea Espression, Beauty By Ruby, Kev's Autos, Boam Automotive, Discount Motor Spares, Mark Sawkins Automotive, SPAR Willington, Willington Cricket Club, Willington WMC, Transcendit Ltd, Dave & Joanne Norman, North East Kitchen Solutions LTD, Rose of India, The Burn Pub and Kitchen, Sunnybrow Newsmarket, Lucky Star Willington Chinese Takeaway, Natalie Davison - Scentsy Consultant, stall holders and everyone else who donated prizes for the Raffle. This was drawn at 3pm yesterday at the event. The winning list has already been shared. Prizes can be collected week commencing Monday 24th August 2026 between 9am and 3pm. Please bring your winning tickets with you to claim your prize.

A huge thank you to staff, councillors and volunteers who dedicated their time throughout the day to make sure this event was well managed and a success.

Last, but not least, a huge thank you to everyone who came to the event and supported the day. We hope you had a wonderful time and enjoyed all the activities. Please feel free to share your comments and photos below.

A huge THANK YOU to all of the wonderful local businesses and individuals who kindly donated prizes to our Family Fun Day Raffle. Your generosity and support is very much appreciated and helped us put together an amazing selection of prizes. ❤️

We would also like to say a massive thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets and supported the event. Every ticket purchased helps us continue to provide future community events.

We are currently collecting raffle prizes for the Family Fun Day. If you have anything you would like to donate, please drop into the office between our opening hours of Monday-Thursday 9am till 3pm and Friday 9am till 12 noon.
