The Royal Air Force Air Cadets) is the premier youth organizations in the UK, providing a military based syllabus, for young people aged 12-20. There is no obligation to join any military service, but we do provide fantastic opportunities to grow and develop, to make better citizens. We are staffed by volunteers (both uniformed and civilian). The RAFAC is involved in many activities, such as sport

s, flying, gliding, Adventurous Training (Including Duke of Edinburgh Awards), Target Rifle Shooting, visits to MOD and military establishments, camps and many more...

Southport has hosted their Air Show again but all pilots need to start somewhere!

Captain Ruth Smith – British Airways
started her flying career at 2137 (Lymm) Sqn.

Squadron Leader Andy Muscat – RAF Tornado & Red Arrows. Before joining the RAF, he was a Cadet with 1074 (Ellesmere Port) Sqn. He flew the Tornado GR4, instructed on the Hawk T2 and was selected as Red 10 with the Red Arrows.
