Residents in Upton Snodsbury Ward are being invited to raise village matters, ask questions about council services and speak directly with their councillor at the Peopleton Autumn Show next month.

Cllr Linda Robinson will be holding a drop-in session from 12 pm on Saturday, 5 September 2026, at the Peopleton Autumn Show, taking place at Peopleton Village Hall and Playing Field.

The drop-in will give residents the chance to speak directly with their councillor in a relaxed setting while enjoying everything the popular Autumn Show has to offer.

There will be stalls, classic cars, live music, demonstrations, rides and much more, giving people an easy opportunity to drop by, ask questions about council services and raise any village matters.

A journey to the shops, a hospital appointment or a visit to see friends can be something many of us take for granted. But for some residents across Droitwich Spa and the surrounding villages, these everyday journeys would simply not be possible without Droitwich Community Transport.

Today, Droitwich Spa CVS operates two wheelchair-accessible community cars alongside drivers own cars and also a 14-seat minibus, enabling residents to travel safely and comfortably to medical appointments, shopping trips, social clubs, family visits and community activities.

However, those involved with the service say community transport is about far more than simply getting people from one place to another.
Every journey helps tackle loneliness and isolation, giving passengers the confidence to remain active, maintain friendships and continue living independently in their own homes. For many people, a chat with a familiar volunteer driver like Clive (pictured) is just as important as reaching their destination.

Alongside essential transport, the charity also organises popular minibus outings to places of interest across the county. These trips provide opportunities for people to enjoy a day out and meet new friends.

To find out more and register to use the service, contact Droitwich Spa CVS Community Transport on 01905 779778 or

Residents are being urged not to use barbecues in parks and open spaces during the current spell of hot, dry weather due to the increased risk of fire.

Many council-owned open spaces contain areas of dry grass, wildflowers and other vegetation that can ignite quickly if exposed to heat, sparks or embers.

Even where grass appears short and well maintained, such as on popular recreation areas, hot ash, coals or disposable barbecues disposed of incorrectly can create a significant fire risk, particularly if placed in litter bins before they have fully cooled.

Residents are also encouraged to avoid leaving glass bottles and jars in open spaces, dispose of litter responsibly, and ensure ci******es and smoking materials are fully extinguished.
If you discover a fire:
• Move to a safe location.
• Call 999 immediately and ask for the fire service.
• Give as much information as possible about the location, including nearby landmarks.
• Do not attempt to tackle the fire unless it is very small and safe to do so.
• Leave the area if the fire is spreading or conditions become unsafe.

An early call to the emergency services on 999 can be the difference between a small incident and a major wildfire.

This week a contractor will be on the Parish Hall site.
The work involved is the replacement of the car park drain near the entrance to Millennium Hall and a new binding gravel surface to the track around Jubilee Field as part of the Recreational Facilities project to make it more accessible.

This will involve, moving plants and restricted areas; please be considerate and respect their working areas and ensure little ones and dogs are safe.

Please report any issues to Robert Moore 07799 643395 or [email protected]
