We provide a place to meet, socialise and eat for up to 45 Visitors each weekday between 9 and 4. Our cooks make a hot, two course lunch each day along with tea, coffee biscuits and cakes in the morning and afternoon. We provide a range of activities and entertainments including singers, dancers and musicians. We operate a minibus service within Crowthorne village to transport our less mobile Visitors to and from our Centre.

A special celebrity guest at COATS today; our skydive hero TREVOR JONES who told our Visitors about his forthcoming leap from an aeroplane. Lots of interesting questions including:

Q Would you ever want to go to space?!
A: If I could use my bus pass…

Q How much money are you hoping to raise for COATS?
A: I had £800 as my goal I have already got £400, so I am hoping to reach that goal!

Q Why do you want to do this parachute jump?
A: it’s my 90th birthday on 29th of June and I wanted to do something special that would combine the two things;
Celebrate my birthday and raise money for COATS

Q Are you nervous before you do your jump?
A: I try not to think about it and in fact, I was more nervous coming to COATS Centre today to do my talk about my parachute jump!

Q At what height are you jumping and how fast are you going?
A: 13,000 feet, 120 mph!

How long does it take to come down to the ground?
A: one minute is free fall and the other five minutes are me coming back down to ground!

Can women jump too?!
A: yes I believe so!

Two of our most popular entertainers at COATS today. Russell and Faith brought music, songs and lots of instruments for audience participation. Well known favourites from the 60s and 70s to sing, clap, rattle and crash along to. 😀🪇🥁🎶

Today at The COATS Centre we enjoyed a lively and energetic return of "8TT4" who played a wide range of sing along favourites. Cliff Richards, Sweet Caroline, YMCA and a country and western medley which brought out the COATS hobby horses, of course. Lots of audience participation and a lucky few got to bang the famous 8TT4 drum!

Forget Vienna, The Eurovision Song Contest came to The COATS Centre today. No pyrotechnics, no silver robots, no flames, no extravagant stage set just pure fun. (OK maybe just a little bit of glitter) So much talent among our Visitors and staff alike with fantastic performances and rousing sing-alongs.

PLEASE SPONSOR TREVOR

TREVOR'S SKYDIVE FOR COATS !

To celebrate his 90th birthday Trevor Jones will be doing a Skydive in support of COATS. This year also marks Trevor and his wife Maureen’s 68th wedding anniversary but Maureen has very sensibly decided to keep both feet firmly on the ground.

Trevor's Skydive will take place at Hinton Sky Diving Centre near Banbury at 12.30am on the 28th June. Trevor will be jumping out of the plane at 13,000 feet over the Oxfordshire countryside.

To sponsor Trevor and support COATS you can donate via his Gofundme page at

It's not all singing, dancing and generally leaping about at The COATS Centre. Today we had a very calm, cultured craft session creating colourful floral items. Lots of quiet concentration by everyone and quite a bit of glue !! I think we can make good use of these creations later in the year 🤔
