We had a great day yesterday launching the Cumbernauld Community Poem for the New Town's 70th Anniversary at Cumbernauld Creates at Palacerigg.

Members of the Writers' Group created the poem from lines given to us by the public. Everyone who contributed has at least one line in there! English, Gaelic and Scots are included. The poem shows how much the town, its green spaces, history and people are appreciated. We plan for it to be used in other anniversary celebrations in the coming months.

At the open mic, readers also shared some of their own work.

Congratulations to Bob, Su, Patricia, Liz, Bob and Anne who brought the poem alive.

Thanks to https://www.instagram.com/amydevlin.writes and Palacerigg Community Trust for organising a wonderful weekend of art, spoken word, workshops and lectures.
