A massive THANK YOU to everyone who came along to our Fun Day at Cumnock Fire Station today and helped make it such a brilliant success. The support from the community was incredible from start to finish, and it was fantastic seeing so many families, friends, and familiar faces enjoying the day with us.

A special well done also goes to our Cumnock firefighting crew who completed the ladder climb challenge, reaching the equivalent height of Ben Nevis to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity. An incredible effort by the team and we’re sure there will be a few sore legs tomorrow!

We genuinely loved getting the chance to chat with everyone, show you around the station, and spend the day with the community we’re proud to serve. We hope everyone had a fantastic day out and enjoys the rest of the weekend.

🚓 Blue Lights & Specialist Kit: Get up close with the impressive emergency vehicles from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, plus our partners Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service! We will also have the Cumnock Heritage Museum on display here.
🍔 Local Treats & Crafts: Grab a bite from Big Dawg BBQ, satisfy your sweet tooth with Sweet Treats By Lauren, and browse amazing local stalls including Jan Laird Art, Lochhill Dairy, Tropic Skincare, and Wycked Crafts.
🎈Kids Entertainment: Keep the wee ones smiling with Animal balloons by Leroy, and fun activities with YIP World!

⛰️ The Big Challenge: Our firefighters are taking on a massive ladder climb challenge on the day! They will be climbing the equivalent height of Ben Nevis to raise vital funds for The Fire Fighters Charity. 🔥 Cumnock Fire Station Open Day – Back Your Local Firefighters! 🔥

Our crew at Cumnock Fire Station are gearing up for a brilliant Open Day, and we’re also raising funds for the — supporting firefighters, and their families, when they need it most.

This year, the team are taking on a special challenge…
A ladder climb totalling the height of Ben Nevis!
We’ll be racking up the metres throughout the day legs burning, arms shaking, and probably regretting our life choices all to raise as much as we can for a cause that means a lot to us.

Whether it’s a pound or a penny, it all helps and it’s all appreciated.

🚒 Cumnock Fire Station Open Day – Saturday 23rd May!
Get the weans ready and round up the pals Cumnock Fire Station is opening its doors from 10:00–16:00, and it’s shaping up to be a brilliant family day out!
👨‍🚒 Kids can climb aboard real fire engines, try on the gear, and meet the crew (who are basically big kids themselves 😄)
📸 Expect live demos, hoses, helmets, and loads of photo moments for the family WhatsApp chat

Local makers, bakers, and community folk will be there with treats, treasures, and fun finds perfect for keeping the grown-ups happy while the kids explore.

All the best to Firefighter Miller who retires from the fire service today after an amazing 32 years and 10 days (not a typo) with Cumnock Fire Station.

Mark has been a firefighter for most of his life providing invaluable emergency cover throughout Cumnock and the surrounding areas.

Please be aware that over the next few weeks there will be quite a bit of fire service activity in and around the remaining block of flats at George McTurk Court.

Crews from various stations across Ayrshire will be using the flats for breathing apparatus search and rescue and incident command exercises.

Interested in becoming an On Call Firefighter at Cumnock ? Why not pop along on a Tuesday night between 7pm and 8pm to have a chat with the crew 🚒🚒
