THE FIRST MINISTER of Scotland appears only once in the Epstein Files, via a series of news clippings printed in an FBI News Briefing during the pandemic. It speaks to the character of the Scottish Government that the only reason Nicola Sturgeon appears at all is because the entire world saw Scotland using the language of diplomacy to tell Donald Trump to f*ck off.

The New York Times (Jan. 2021), under the headline "Scottish Leader Says Trump Cannot Travel There At Time Of Inauguration", told readers there were rumors that POTUS "would head for Scotland" because a "Scottish paper reported that an American military version of a Boeing 757 - sometimes used by Mr. Trump - was scheduled to land at a nearby airport".

Trump at the time was becoming known for his spontaneous unannounced flights to Prestwick Airport, but Nicola's Scottish Government quickly banned him before he boarded his plane.

According to the NY Times, the "leader of Scotland made clear on Tuesday that Mr. Trump is not welcome in her country," saying that "under newly imposed virus restrictions, which prohibit all but essential travel, a visit by the president to one of his Scottish golf resorts would not be acceptable."

A clipping from the Independent (UK) the same week confirmed the temporary ban. Nicola said "we are not allowing people to come in to Scotland without an essential purpose right now and that would apply to him, just as it applies to anybody else. Coming to play golf is not what I would consider to be an essential purpose."

She was correct, of course.

Nicola Sturgeon appears in the worst criminal dossier of the 21st-century not because she was a friend or participant, but because she was an obstacle to Trump and Trump's wealthy chums. She should be very very proud of this. I know I am. I hope she is.

Can the UK Government (and its loudest tribal supporters) say the same? 🤔
