Henllys Community Council - Gwent Police meeting summary.

Henllys Community Council would like to thank officers from Gwent Police for attending May’s Full Council meeting to discuss local policing matters and hear about issues affecting residents in our community.

During the meeting, councillors raised concerns regarding the recent incident in Birch Grove car park, along with ongoing concerns from residents about vehicles speeding on residential roads throughout Henllys.

Regarding the Birch Grove incident, Cllr Burnett and Cllr Thomas have already liaised with the Community Safety team, and the Police Officer in attendance kindly offered to attend the site meeting they have arranged for early June.

The officers also committed to engaging with the GoSafe team to arrange for speed monitoring equipment to be deployed in the area. This exercise will help assess the extent of the issue and determine any appropriate next steps.

In the meantime, we would encourage all residents to drive safely, responsibly, and with consideration for others — particularly pedestrians and other vulnerable road users.

It’s Election Day!

Today, the hall will be used as a polling station for the Senedd election. Like many other polling stations up and down the country, we will be open from:

07:00 to 22:00

If we are your local polling station, make sure you come in to cast your vote.

There’s no need to bring your polling card, and ID is not required to vote in a Senedd election.
