👮‍♂️ Neighbourhood officers carried out an early-morning warrant at an address in Hendre Farm Drive on Tuesday 23 June.

ℹ️ Officers investigating the sale and supply of illegal drugs in Ringland seized a large quantity of cannabis, a large amount of cash and two off-road bikes from the address.

❗ A 31-year-old man and 35-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B – cannabis, and possession of criminal property.

ℹ️ Both, from Newport, remain in police custody at this time as our enquiries continue.

PC Will Scarrettt, neighbourhood ward manager for Alway, said:

💬 "We hope this morning’s warrant in Ringland demonstrates that information provided by our communities can make a huge difference to our investigations.

"Operations like this are made possible by the vital part our communities play in telling us about their concerns.

"Our teams will continue to work to investigate the sale and supply of illegal drugs in the Newport area and further afield.

Officers from Newport East NPT have been continuing proactive patrols to keep our communities safe, and recently stopped a male riding a Sur-Ron off-road bike.
Checks revealed the vehicle was untaxed and uninsured, and following further enquiries, the rider was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.
✅ This is a great example of officers taking action to tackle illegal activity and keep our streets safer for everyone.

Last Week attended Glan Usk Primary School enrichment day to help educate pupils on Road Safety. 🚛 🚗🚶🏽🚦

Our Neighbourhood Sergeants, PCSOs and our friends from the Gwent Police - Roads Policing & Dog Section also got to show the pupils our Marked Car, Van and they even got to meet one of our PDs. 🐕‍🦺 🚔
We hope the pupils and staff enjoyed, we look forward to returning again in the future. 🙂

📆 On Sunday, Cadet Leaders & took a small group of our to go and see the South Wales Police horses for an informative visit.📆

🔵 We have conducted a number of these visits through the year and this was the final one of the current Cadet year. 🔵

🐴 We got to meet some amazing, and rather large, horses called Louis, Dave and Cobblestone, along with the Wellbeing Dog, and Gwent Police Dogs & . 🐴

🏛️ Every time we visit, its a great experience and would like to thank the staff for being so accommodating. We look forward to organising some more visits when we start back in our Cadet sessions in the near future!🏛️

👮🏻‍♂️ Today have been in at the Welfare Grounds for the Rogerstone Festival.

🚓 The team engaged with families and businesses throughout the event where everyone got to meet their local officers, try on uniforms and look around the police car.

🗣️ We also discussed local issues in the community, provided crime prevention advice and signed people up to our new Neighbourhood Matters system.

👏🏻 Thank you to everyone who helped organise and support this event; there was a great turnout, the sun was shining and everyone enjoyed the occasion!
