Thank You for Joining Our Bat Watch Evening 🦇

A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us for our Bat Watch evening last night. It was wonderful to see so many of you there and to share such a fascinating evening together.

Although we saw fewer bats than we would normally expect, with eight species recorded rather than our usual ten, we were delighted to make a very special discovery. We documented a Greater Horseshoe Bat, a species that we have not previously recorded during our bat watches. This made the evening particularly memorable and was a fantastic addition to our records.

We suspect that the eclipse may have influenced bat activity, but despite seeing fewer bats (at the designated time), it was still a truly rewarding experience.

Thank you once again to everyone who came along and helped make the evening so enjoyable. We very much hope to welcome you back again soon.

Best wishes,
Tracy & Nigel Turner 🦇

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our Fireside Gathering at Llanrhafan Manor Farm last night. ❤️

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome you all, and we thoroughly enjoyed spending the evening together, sharing stories, laughter, and conversation beneath the beautiful Buck Moon.

As part of the evening, many chose to write down the thoughts, worries, and things that no longer served them before offering them to the fire—a simple but meaningful ritual of release and new beginnings beneath the moonlight. It was a lovely moment to share together.

There was also plenty of time to relax around the fire, toast marshmallows, and enjoy refreshments, cakes, and sweet treats while taking in the peaceful surroundings and wonderful company.

Thank you all for helping to make it such a warm, welcoming, and memorable evening. Your support means so much to us, and we truly hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Llanrhafan Manor Farm again soon for another special gathering.

With thanks,

Tracey & Nigel 🌙🔥

We hope you all had a fantastic evening and enjoyed learning more about these incredible nocturnal mammals. It was wonderful to share the experience with such an enthusiastic group.

We’re delighted to report that our bat detectors recorded 10 different species of bats throughout the evening, making it a truly memorable event and highlighting just how important Llanyrafon Manor Farm is for local wildlife.

Thank you once again for your support and for making the evening such a success. We hope you had as much fun as we did, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Llanyrafon Manor Farm for another event in the near future!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our very first Bat Watch Evening at Llanyrafon Manor Farm.

We had a fantastic evening and were amazed by what we recorded. Two years ago, surveys carried out by an ecologist documented three bat species on the site (using the cottage): the lesser horseshoe, brown long-eared, and common pipistrelle.

Last night, using a combination of Echo Meter Touch 2 and Magenta Bat 4 bat detectors, our guests helped record an incredible ten different bat species flying around the grounds of Llanyrafon Manor Farm—far more than we ever anticipated.

A special thank you goes to one of our young guests, who kindly documented the different species detected throughout the evening. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and using the equipment to discover the fascinating world of bats.

We also enjoyed our pop-up shop, sold plenty of fresh duck eggs, provided refreshments, and, most importantly, shared a really enjoyable evening together in nature.

Our next Bat Watch Evening is next Wednesday, and it is now fully booked. However, we do have additional sessions available, so please take a look at our website to book your place.

Thank you once again to everyone who came along and made our very first Bat Watch Evening such a success. We look forward to welcoming many more of you soon.
