Just a reminder we are closed
Friday, Oct 2 & Saturday, Oct 3

And Thanksgiving Saturday, Oct 10

2 dates to keep in mind:

October 31st we will host a murder mystery, except without the murder...just a heinous crime!! 😱 It should take you about 20 minutes to solve the clues, and it's not at a set time, so stop in anytime between 10:30 and 1 p.m. Bring your thinking caps! 🧐

Calling all BEE lovers! KNOWvember 4th we'll host Hugh Metcalfe at 1:30. This gentleman will tell you what to do next year to encourage these winged warriors to stop at your garden. 🐝

*** Brenda here.
My father and I want to thank you for taking a minute to express your condolences. It seems we underestimated her reach in the community. It's heartwarming to know she meant something to so many. ******

We lost our #1 volunteer last Friday, Phyllis Noble.

If you'd like to pay your respects, we'll be at Hillcrest in Vankleek Hill on October 2nd from 1:30 - 4:30 for visitation.

The funeral, niche committal and lunch will be at the Breadalbane Church and Cemetery Saturday, October 3rd starting at 11am

******
The library will be closed on those days, to allow volunteers to attend

Due to a blip in our cataloging / carding / shelving system, we'll have to put a big pause on accepting book donations.

We've received so many wonderful tomes over the last few months, our topic choices are expansive, and that will have to do for now.

See you in Centre Lochiel Centre next weekend for their used book sale!!

If you missed the Friday portion of our exposition, here are a few pictures to whet your appetite for Saturday!

Try your hand at calligraphy.
Listen to great speakers.
Match the quote to the book.
Support local authors and vendors!

2 things we have that you can see this weekend at Touch a Book!!!
Friday 1 to 4, Saturday 10 to 3

08/09/2026

Touch a Book is on this weekend!!!

We have 10 authors who will sell their books, maybe sign autographs, and tell you about themselves.

5 of those authors will do presentations over the 2 days on different subjects, and Saturday at 2pm we'll have a Panel Discussion.

We have some book and educational displays, we have 2 fun activities, we have a couple of vendors (bring cash) and there is a chill corner in each building.

Plenty of parking, facilities, snacks for sale, lots of volunteers to guide you between our library and DHS, and everything is inside.

If you haven't visited either organization before, this is the perfect excuse. If you have, you'll know we put on great events. See you soon!

Notice: if you have an old typewriter or quill pen to lend, now is the time. I would love to borrow those this week. Show date is coming!

If you know someone still wearing masks, or someone doing some minor repair work or crafts that could use these coverings, help yourself!
