Children in 40 have been talking about World Ocean day. World Ocean Day is an international celebration observed annually on June 8. It highlights the critical role the oceans play in our lives, the threats they face, and the actions we can take to protect them. On the afternoon, the children in 4D took part in some orienteering that conveniently ended up at the play park! The whole class were excellent all day, even when the bus was delayed!

4D also made Roman porridge and transported water using their very own aqueducts!

56AB have been considering a big question in RE: For Christians, what kind of king is Jesus? The children have looked at the Parable of the Great Banquet in the book of Luke and concluded that Jesus was trying to teach Christians that it is better to be kind and generous to all without expecting anything in return. In this sense he is guiding Christians as a great leader would.

A massive well done to the year 3 and 4 girls who took part in this afternoon’s football tournament at St John's CE Academy Darlington. The girls managed to complete the whole tournament undefeated and finished 2nd overall. More importantly, they showed excellent sportsmanship, teamwork and determination. Great job girls!
