Darlington Maker's Market
We met Susan Gray a wonderful local author and I cannot wait to read her novel Blossoming of Truth part of a trilogy by Susan and thank you for signing my copy, that means so much.
We were also introduced to Amanda Atkinson of Amanda's Comfort Creations, a great author of children's books who specialises in welfare driven, educational workshops available for celebrations, commercial events and educational and community establishments.

Today my consort and myself had the pleasure of attending the Darlington Maker's Market at Darlington Farmers Auction Mart and meeting so many talented stallholders from across the region and see first hand the creativity and entrepreneurial talent on display.
From unique handmade gifts, to locally produced food and artisan products.
I was in my element cuddling the most adorable cute rescue kitten and have offered our kitten sitting services and a big thank you to VV Cats of Crete for everything you do with such compassion and dedication.
A huge thank you to Sarah Foot for wonderfully hosting us and the extremely successful event and to all the traders and visitors who helped create such a vibrant atmosphere in our town.
Events such as this showcase the very best of brilliant small businesses, that contribute so much to our economy and community.
A big thank you to Denise of Splash Crafts for our wonderfully, meaningful thermal cups which we will treasure.
I will be posting further trader products and information so please take a look and support small businesses.
We would highly recommend a visit so please look on Facebook for details of the next event, we will certainly be re visiting.

On Sunday my consort and myself attended the Chair of North Yorkshire's Civic Service at St Hilda's Church, West Cliffe, Whitby.
The service was hosted by Chair Councillor David Chance and conducted by Reverend Canon Michael Gobbett with the sermon delivered by Reverend Captain Paul Burnett CF, from 21 Engineer Regiment.
It was a wonderful and moving service with the retiring collection being shared between the Army Benevolent Fund and St Hilda's Church.
Following the service we were very warmly welcomed at the Royal Hotel Whitby where we enjoyed a delicious meal with fabulous company.
Thank you to all involved for a truly amazing day.

Whilst my consort and myself attended The Family Help Darlington Ball, the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress represented us at The Mayor of Great Aycliffe's Charity Evening.
They enjoyed beautiful food and had a singalong with the amazing ukulele band and a dance to the wonderful entertainer.

It was my pleasure to visit Age UK Darlington on Thursday for an enjoyable and informative tour, accompanied by delicious coffee and cake alongside wonderful attendees.
I was delighted to learn more about the wide range of services provided to support people across our community. I was impressed by their excellent catering service which delivers high quality food and refreshments in house, as well as the outside catering and the offer of welcoming and flexible spaces to hire for meetings, celebrations and community gatherings.
It was also enlightening to hear about the valuable respite services available, providing much needed support for carers and ensuring that people receive care, companionship and engaging activities in a safe and friendly environment.
The dedication, passion and professionalism of the staff and volunteers were evident throughout my visit. T hey make a real difference to the lives of so many residents and families in Darlington.
My sincere thanks to everyone at Age UK Darlington for the warm welcome and hospitality. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and left with an even greater appreciation of the vital work you do within our community.
