Look who is standing with a bit of support ❤️🎉🎉🎉

They still have a long way to go, but with daily red light therapy, painkillers, good nutrition and a will to live, they've taken the first steps (quite literally) to walking again 🙏.

Their sibling is totally fine thankfully 😊, but, they will not be separated and both will be going to a safe, permanent home with a good friend of mine, so they NEVER have to experience this sort of cruelty again.

Do you have a few quid spare that could go towards helping our local birds? 🙏 We rely on public donations alone, no grants, no support from local authorities, everything that goes on at Darlington Bird Rescue is 100% funded and backed by you!

I'm looking for a second hand pressure washer.

I've been searching marketplace and not had much luck typically, most aren't even responding to my message 😩

Does anyone have a spare one they could donate or we could buy?

It doesn't have to be big or fancy, but does have to be mains powered

Is anyone near eldon street missing a tippler/high flyer type pigeon? Dainty small beak, I've never seen it before here and my flock is pretty consistent

This is Wobbler.

Wobbler came in from Vet4pets Catterick covered in engine oil, with shredded feathers, emaciated, neurological issues, and an inability to stand without falling over.

It is highly likely that he ended up in a car/van engine, was removed, but as his feathers were in such poor condition he couldn't fly away. In his own efforts to clean himself up, he gave himself motor oil toxicity. Oil of most kinds is toxic to birds and does a lot of damage to their internal organs when ingested in large amounts.

When he arrived he was only passing black stool which showed how bad his case was. There is no antidote to oil toxicity, we can only provide supportive care and flushing their systems with a lot of fluid. It's taken some time, but he is on the mend. He is making improvements with each day, I don't know yet if any of the neurological damage is permanent, only time will tell.

Today alone I spent £120 quid on supplies.

Has anyone spotted a white fantail type pigeon flying around loose near Auckland Oval / Marwood Crescent?

Please sent us a message if you have 🙏! It belongs to one of our volunteers Lesley who just came home from holiday to find one has escaped whilst their temporary carer was looking after them. She does have a yellow/gold band on her leg with lesleys phone number.

Sophie Hughes is an absolute star ❤️

Last night/early morning I posted a little bit in my post about how I was crossing my fingers that a little one made the night after spending hours crying about his situation. People that know me probably guessed it was a rooster.

Well, he made it through the night, and Sophie caught him today!

He is a baby. A literal baby. He didn't bloody deserve to be dumped in the middle of nowhere with no provisions and his deceased siblings around him.

He is going to Tegan at Highland Poultry Rescue so is staying with us until she comes down to get him.

We still desperately need a foster or home for 3 other dumped roosters, we can't catch them if there's nowhere for them to go and we are all full to them brim with no space for 3 adults.

This boy is one of the lucky ones :( I wish I could've said the same for the others. I'm not going into the whole situation yet as we are trying to find out some crucial information.
