There is something deeply troubling about the Green Party’s priorities in Darlington.

This weekend, they’ve been caught distributing a community survey asking residents whether “supporting Gaza” is one of the most important local issues in Darlington.

Yes, you read that correctly.

With all the challenges facing our town and the everyday concerns people expect their local representatives to tackle, the Greens are asking residents about Gaza and the EU.

It tells you rather a lot about where their priorities lie.

As Maya Angelou put it: “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.”

And this isn’t happening in isolation. Not so long ago, the local Green Party was arguing for Class A drugs to be made as readily available as alcohol and ci******es.

Darlington deserves representatives focused on Darlington, not a vehicle for fringe ideological obsessions.

The Greens are showing us their priorities. We should believe them.

TURMOIL IN REFORM’S FLAGSHIP DURHAM COUNCIL 🚨

Durham was supposed to be Reform UK’s poster boy for proving they could run a major council. Just 15 months after sweeping to power, things look very different:

📉 Reform won 65 councillors in May 2025, they’re now down to 55

🚪 Their latest councillor, Ian Catchpole, has quit the Reform group, accusing senior figures of a “blatant disregard” for mental health

👮 Council leader Andrew Husband has reportedly been reported to police by multiple councillors over allegations about his conduct

💥 Bitter internal rows and leaked messages have exposed divisions within the group

Durham was meant to show the country what Reform in power looked like. Instead, their flagship council has gone from 65 councillors to 55 in just 15 months. And if they lose another six, they lose their overall majority.

Is this really the alternative Reform promised?
