“You can have all the people in the world around you, all the services in the world around you, but if you don’t do something, nothing will change.”

These powerful words from newly-appointed Chair of Mind and former professional footballer, Clarke Carlisle, set the tone at a recent event celebrating the extension of our partnership with Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT).

Colleagues, service users and partners came together at The O2 to mark this next chapter, including a memorable climb over the iconic venue and an interactive football session that brought everyone together in a fun and supportive way.

This partnership continues to make a real difference across our communities, supporting people to build confidence, connect with others and take positive steps in their recovery.

🎥 We’re proud to share a short film capturing the day, including powerful reflections from people involved in the programme and those leading this work.

Being an Oxleas nurse is about compassion, professionalism and putting people at the heart of care. Our nurses work across communities, hospitals and specialist services, supporting patients, families and carers in some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

Our new film reflects what “proud to be an Oxleas nurse” really means, from delivering safe, person centred care, to supporting colleagues and developing professionally as part of a strong nursing community.

Happy International Nurses Day!

Today we’re celebrating our incredible nurses and the difference they make every single day.

This year’s theme, Empowered Nurses Save Lives, couldn’t be more fitting. It recognises the skill, compassion and impact of nurses around the world who go above and beyond to support patients, families and communities.

Our nurses do extraordinary work, often in challenging circumstances, and today is a moment to pause and say a huge thank you for everything they do.

Please take a moment to watch a special message from our Chief Nursing Officer, Jane Wells, sharing her thanks and appreciation for all our amazing nurses.

International Nurses Day is marked globally each year on 12 May, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, and is a chance to celebrate nursing in all its forms.

We’d love you to join in, share your stories, say thank you and show your appreciation for your colleagues today.

Thank you to all our nurses, we are so proud of you.
