📚😊Library Reading Challenge😊📚

We are really proud to hear that so many of our pupils have been visiting the library and reading this summer. We are 2nd in the leaderboard for Dartford schools!

Although the Summer Reading Challenge finishes this Saturday 5th September, there is still time to visit the local library to collect your rewards. Visiting may even push us into the top spot! Well done to everyone who took part!

⭐ 🥳 End of Year Celebrations 🥳 ⭐

We held our final assembly of the year on the last day of term to celebrate all that we have achieved together. The children continue to amaze us and make us beam with pride. There have been countless moments to celebrate this year, too many to mention. Not just the big achievements, but the little glimmers of success too: children overcoming a difficult challenge, finding their self-confidence, learning a new skill or achieving personal goals.

One of the things that makes Westgate so special is the way we look out for one another. Children, staff and families alike take the time to cherish and celebrate these moments together.

Our Saxons House were the overall winning house team this year, while the Romans took first place at Sports Day. Ten children, including siblings, achieved 100% attendance, which is a remarkable display of dedication. Many teachers chose their entire class for their final certificate, and we certainly agree that every single child has shown what it means to be a Westgate Champion in one way or another.

As the year comes to a close, we would like to thank you for your continued support throughout the year. We wish all of our children, families and staff a wonderful summer break. Stay safe, make special memories and enjoy every moment. We look forward to welcoming you back in September for another fantastic year at Westgate. 🥳☺️⭐️

🥲🥰 Goodbye and Thank You Mrs Taylor 🥰🥲

This week, we sad a heartfelt goodbye to Mrs Taylor who has spent the last 13 years working at Westgate. Not only has Mrs Taylor taught many of our Westgate pupils over the years, she has also been a fantastic PE Lead for our school. She has dedicated so much of her time to providing our pupils with amazing experiences both inside and outside of the classroom.

She will be greatly missed by pupils, staff and families alike, but we hope she enjoys putting her feet up and getting some well-deserved rest. We wish her all the very best for the future and wanted to share this video we made for her to thank her for all she has done. 🥰🥹👋

💚 ✨ Year 6 Leavers Assembly ✨💚

Our Year 6 Leavers Assembly was a truly emotional and memorable occasion as we celebrated an incredible group of children and reflected on their journey through Westgate.

There were smiles, laughter, proud memories and, of course, a few tears as we looked back on the friendships, achievements and special moments that have shaped their primary school years. We are immensely proud of everything our Year 6 pupils have accomplished and the remarkable young people they have become.

As they prepare to take their next steps into secondary school, we hope they carry with them the values that have been at the heart of their time at Westgate: kindness, respect, resilience and a belief in themselves. Wherever their journeys take them, they will always be part of the Westgate family. 💚⭐️

🐻🔍Reception go on a Bear Hunt! 🔍🐻

Our Reception Class had a fantastic day today exploring their local area to celebrate and round off their learning this year. They enjoyed visiting the town centre, the park and the library, as well as completing Dartford's Big Bear Hunt, spotting eleven colourful bears hidden around the town. 🐻🚶🔍

The children had a wonderful day together and it was made especially memorable as it was Mrs Taylor's penultimate day at Westgate. This marked her final school trip with a Westgate class, making it a truly special occasion. Thank you, Mrs Taylor, for all the happy memories and dedication you have given to our children over the years. We wish you every happiness in your next chapter 💚😊

🎶🎧 Silent Disco fun for Year 6! 🎧🎶

Year 6 had an amazing time at their Silent Disco last night. What a fantastic evening of dancing, singing and laughter! From classic favourites to current hits, our Year 6 pupils fully embraced the experience and created some wonderful memories together. The children really did dress to impress, the energy was incredible and there were plenty of enthusiastic performances along the way!

A huge thank you to STICK OR TWIST Headphone Parties for supplying the groovy beats and the fun! A brilliant memory to add to their final weeks at primary school!🕺💃⭐

🎶 A spectacular end-of-year iRock concert! 🎶

This Thursday, we held our Summer iRock Concert with our wonderful iRock School of Music teachers Liam and Dan. Our four fantastic bands stepped up to perform on the big stage!

From powerful singers to talented guitarists, drummers and keyboard players, our children showcased the amazing progress they have made this year. Their growing skills, confidence and musicality were evident in every performance. We couldn't be prouder of our young musicians.

The children had a great day on Wednesday this week, coming to school with their wackiest hair dos to raise money for We Are Beams. As always, there were some really creative efforts around the school and the children loved looking at all the crazy, fun hairstyles. Even our staff joined in too!

🥇🏃‍♀️🏆 Term 6 Intra Competition 🏆🏃‍♀️🥇

We are delighted to announce that Romans were the winners of the Term 6 Social ME Intra Competition! This term's challenge was Sports Day, which included a variety of sports and activities that allowed the children to showcase the skills they have developed in PE throughout the year. They demonstrated fantastic teamwork, communication and determination, supporting one another every step of the way to secure first place.

You should all be incredibly proud of your achievement. Your positive attitudes, resilience and collaboration truly embodied the spirit of healthy competition and helped you stand out as worthy champions. Well done, Romans! 👏💙 Keep up this amazing teamwork and sportsmanship next year!
