🌙🚧 A big thank you to the hardworking crews out overnight resurfacing roads in Dartford.

I was pleased to join Dartford’s other KCC councillors and Deputy Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, Spencer Dixon, to visit the team carrying out these essential works. They do a fantastic job while most of us are asleep. Road resurfacing can be disruptive, but carrying it out in the evenings and overnight helps reduce the impact on residents, commuters and local businesses. 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

It was great to see the professionalism, skill and care that goes into keeping our roads safe and in better condition for everyone who uses them. 🛣️✨

Thank you to all the workers involved for their long hours, dedication and commitment to improving Dartford’s roads. 👏

As KCC councillors, we assist residents when processes go wrong or services fall short of expectations. It is therefore heartening to be reminded that in the vast majority of interactions with the council we get it right first time. I am pleased to report that our services are highly rated by residents - and long may that continue.

Today, Kent County Council is proudly flying the St George’s flag above Sessions House, County Hall in Maidstone, as we mark England’s patron saint and celebrate the communities, history and shared sense of place that make Kent such a great county to live and work in.

Sandbanks Hill Road, between Betsham and Darenth, was closed today to allow for fly tip investigation / cleareance works, with diversions along Highcross Road and then onto Whitehill Road. Disruption may extend to multiple days.

KCC's Safer Road User Team will be presenting a course to support older drivers and passengers in maintaining their independence and safety on the road. It is intended for residents in Bean and the surrounding area and will be held at Bean Village Hall on Monday 2nd March 2026 at 1.30pm.
