"The handcrafted detail with roses inspired by the garden makes it all the more special. Our audience has given us nothing but positive feedback on this amazing new installation. Huge thanks to Earth Wrights for being such a great company to work with!"
Chelsea Pettitt, National Trust
At Earth Wrights, our playground design philosophy is rooted in listening, learning, and respecting the unique character of every space we work with.
For the National Trust at Emmets Garden, we immersed ourselves in its "Spirit of Place." The transition from formal rose gardens to wild forest inspired our tower design, complete with rose window motifs reflecting the garden's beautiful blooms. We even added a treasure trail of semi-hidden carvings of flowers, creating both sensory fun and a connection to the site's story.
We use durable, chemical-free Robinia wood, which silvers beautifully over time, blending seamlessly with the natural backdrop. Our planting schemes are also carefully considered to enhance biodiversity and sensory experiences.
Our goal is always to create bespoke, handmade play spaces that feel like a natural extension of the environment, not an intrusion. It's about crafting imaginative, natural play that reveals the joy of the site and encourages a deeper connection with the landscape. We're passionate about designing inclusive spaces where all children can explore, experiment, and cultivate a love for the natural world and their place in it.
