Today the Page runs itself with the help of the 15000+ users and me "The Eyes" the admin along with moderators and analysts. There have been many pages trying to get the same coverage and users as EOD but failed, Pages are welcome to post there pages on mine but not spam. I cannot take any responsibility for comments made or posted by others so please do not victimize me in posts. Remember you are posting your comments to the WWW and everyone can see it, Police use this site, Councillors, Mums and Dads etc etc. The page has a Profanity Blocklist so no heavy swearing or spamming, no posting direct insults these will be flagged and moved to hidden posts and reviewed and possibly banned. Banter is fine but if someone takes offence STOP! Users breaking any of these rules will be automatically banned from the page and reported to facebook. I reserve the right to ban any user myself if i feel necessary, i will re-enable your account in 1 month on receiving PM. New future secured for Dawlish's long-neglected Old Vicarage.

A derelict Grade II listed building that has stood empty for more than 20 years could finally be brought back into use after Teignbridge District Council granted planning permission for its restoration and conversion into seven homes.

The Old Vicarage has been vacant since 2003 and has presented a longstanding challenge due to its listed status, condition and location.

Working closely with Historic England, developer JD TOV Management LTD and The Vicarage Residents Group, plans have been approved to preserve the building's historic character while giving it a sustainable new future.

The approved scheme includes:

🏠 Three two-bedroom houses and two three-bedroom houses within the main building
🏠 A two-bedroom house in the converted coach house
🏠 A one-bedroom newly built home

The development will restore an important historic building, help tackle a long-standing local eyesore and provide seven new homes for the community.

🏊 Dawlish Leisure Centre is set for a major £4.2m refurbishment.

The plans will create a more modern and welcoming centre, with:

✅ a larger gym with more equipment
✅ two new exercise studios
✅ improved ventilation
✅ refurbished solar panels
✅ more parking

Work is expected to begin next year and take around 10 months. The project will be funded through Community Infrastructure Levy contributions from housing developments in Dawlish.

We plan to keep the swimming pool and all-weather pitches open during the work, with temporary changing facilities provided. We are also exploring options to maintain a gym offer.

Sports hall users will be able to use Broadmeadow Sports Centre and Newton Abbot Leisure Centre, where space is available.

We will share more information once the designs and construction arrangements have been finalised.
