We know there are currently a number of planning applications and proposed developments in and around Denholme, and many residents are keen to have their voices heard.

📢 Update on Denholme Co-op

I’ve now received confirmation from the Co-op’s Executive Correspondence Team regarding the temporary closure of the Denholme Co-op and its pop-up shop.

✅ The pop-up shop will remain open until Sunday 8th September.
🚧 There will be a short 3-day closure (8th–10th September) to allow final works to take place.
🎉 The fully refurbished Co-op store will officially reopen on Thursday 11th September.

The Co-op have also confirmed that signage will be updated to make sure members and customers are aware of the timings.

This is very welcome news for our community, and I look forward to seeing the new store open its doors again soon.

Dear Mr Breeze

Thank you for taking the time to write to our Chief Executive, Shirine Khoury-Haq on 07 August, about the temporary closure of our Denholme Co-op and accessibility to the pop-up shop. Shirine has asked me to respond to your letter on her behalf, and I am able to give you the assurances that you and the Denholme community are looking for.

Firstly, I can confirm that there will only be a three-day closure of the pop-up shop and not 3 weeks. We have been able to extend the pop-up provision until 08 September, with full store opening to take place on 11 September. We need to move the pop-up shop on 08 September, to complete all the work before the store’s launch.

We will be updating the signage to reflect the above, to allow time for our Members and customers to shop ahead of the three-day closure.

We are excited about the new store and are confident that the Denholme community will be pleased with it.

We hope to see you soon when we launch.

Kind regards,
Joanne

We have written to the CEO of the Co-op to understand what measures will be put in place during the period without a pop up shop and encouraged them to work with our community.
