Choosing a Funeral Director can feel overwhelming at an already difficult time. Here are some of the most common questions we’re asked, to help guide you through the process ❤️

❓ Do I have to use a specific Funeral Director?
No – the choice is entirely yours. You can select a Funeral Director based on reputation, location, recommendation, or personal preference.

❓ What services will they provide?
A Funeral Director will guide you through every step, including arranging the funeral, caring for your loved one, coordinating with the crematorium or cemetery, and supporting you with paperwork and decisions.

❓ How do I choose the right one?
Look for a Funeral Director who listens, communicates clearly, and makes you feel comfortable. Personal recommendations and reviews can also be very helpful.

❓ Can I compare prices?
Yes – Funeral Directors are required to provide clear, itemised pricing. Don’t be afraid to ask for a breakdown so you can make an informed choice.

❓ Do I need to meet them in person?
Not always. Many Funeral Directors can make arrangements over the phone or online if that feels easier for you. Some funeral directors/ arrangers are happy to complete home visits too.

❓ Will they work with any crematorium?
Most Funeral Directors will work closely with local crematoria, helping to ensure arrangements run smoothly on the day.

❓ Can I personalise the service?
Absolutely. Your Funeral Director will help you create a service that reflects your loved one’s life – from music and readings to visual tributes, unusual vehicles and special touches.

⚠️ Important Visitor Notice – Friday 5th June ⚠️

We would like to make all visitors aware that on Friday 5th June, Trent Valley Crematorium will be hosting three services where we have been advised that there will be a large attendance on what sadly is already expected to be a full day. Our thoughts are with all who are attending services.

As a result, parking may be limited at times, and we kindly ask all mourners attending to plan accordingly.

To help ease potential issues and support a smooth experience for all families and visitors, we respectfully encourage:

🛻Car sharing where ever possible
🪧Park in marked bays in the car park
🗣 Follow staff guidance on the day

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a respectful and calm environment for everyone attending.

What can I expect from the chapel and what are the fees?

Our modern chapel offers a calm, comfortable setting for every service:

🪑 Seating for up to 140 guests
👥 Additional space (for 200) with screens & audio for larger attendance
🌿 Air-conditioned with plenty of natural light and garden views
🎵 Music, webcast, recordings & visual tributes available
⏱️ Ample 1-hour service slots (around 40–45 minutes for the service itself). Extra Chapel time can be booked if required
💷 Our full adult chapel fees start from £875, with a range of options throughout the day
📅 We also offer weekend and evening services for added flexibility
💙 A seamless, fully supported experience—so you can focus on remembering your loved one

🌿 Introducing Our Legacy Garden & Windphone 🌿

From 1st June, we are proud to begin work where the ground work has begun -creating our Legacy Garden — a peaceful new space designed for reflection, remembrance, and connection.

At the heart of this garden will be our traditional red telephone booth, dedicated as a Windphone. This special space offers visitors a quiet place to “speak” to loved ones who have passed away — to share thoughts, say the things left unsaid, or simply take a moment to feel close to them again.

Inspired by a beautiful idea that began in Japan, the Windphone is a gentle way to support grief and remembrance, and we hope it will bring comfort to all who visit. We are confident that this will compliment our 'Letters to Heaven' Post box and further supporting families through grief.

This new space will also carry forward elements from our Hope and Jubilee Gardens, building on the same care, meaning, and attention to detail that defines our immaculately prepared surroundings.
