Well done to Linsey Farnsworth MP for hosting the first ever Amber Valley Visitor Economy Conference!

Our very own Alison Clark, East Midlands Combined County Authority’s Director of Culture, Visitor Economy and Sport attended along with many local business owners and stakeholders to talk about the opportunities to scale up and support the Visitor Economy in Amber Valley.

Growing Toray Textiles Europe Ltd. is a strategic opportunity for the East Midlands to secure more high-value jobs, attract further investment, and strengthen Britain’s ability to make more of what it needs here in the UK.

📻🗣️ It was good to speak to BBC Nottingham this morning about the Trent Sports District.

Rushcliffe is home to some incredible sport and event venues but they don't always speak to each other, and there isn't a single story about sport in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Last week, the Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward confirmed that masterplanning is underway for the Sports District, and was promoting it at UKREiiF (the UK's Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum). If we get this right, we can improve transport and connectivity, reduce some of the pressures residents experience on event days, attract investment into the area and create more jobs and opportunities locally.

🌞 Great news for families in the East Midlands this summer🌞

🎉The Government has announced a package of support to help with the cost of days out

💷From 25 June, VAT will be cut from 20% to 5% on:

🍕Children’s meals in restaurants, children and family tickets for the cinema, theatre, concerts and shows.

🎫Adult and kid theme parks, soft play, zoos, museums, wildlife parks and many more!

🚌 Throughout August, every child aged between 5 and 15 in England will be able to hop on a local bus for free!

☀️ I’m delighted to see the Government making a fun summer more affordable for families

Off the back of her recent visit to Derby, we were thrilled to welcome Chancellor Rachel Reeves to the East Midlands pavillion at UKREiiF.

The Chancellor’s continued support and belief in Team East Midlands is paramount to the inclusive growth of our region.

The Chancellor recently joined Derby leaders, major employers and community partners last month at the launch of Team Derby: a new partnership backed by £10 million of government investment to support the city's growth.
