Good afternoon...

We hope you've had a good weekend. It's been a good weekend for the team.

PCSO Coleman and PCSO Wright went on high visibility patrol around Chaddesden and the surrounding area, meeting with locals and engaging with them discussing any concerns and worries.

PCSO Maestri has been touring around Oakwood, looking at future engagement opportunities and saying hi to local residents.

Don't forget it's the Chadd Big One this coming Sunday at Chaddesden Park. The team will be there for you to come along and meet, we'll be there with bike marking gear, stickers and Derbyshire Talking surveys.

| Concern growing for missing Derby teenager Casey

We are growing concerned for the welfare of missing Derby teenager Casey.

He has been in touch with people he knows over the last several days but has not been seen since Tuesday (26 May).

The 17-year-old is missing from his home in Oakwood, has links to Chaddesden and it is believed he could have travelled to Leicester.

He is about 5ft 3ins tall and is believed to be wearing a grey and blue tracksuit, grey Nike trainers and was carrying a black backpack.

Anyone who has seen Casey since he went missing, or knows where he is now, is asked to please contact us using one of the methods below and quote incident number 602 of 29 May.

We’re appealing for information after a bike was stolen during a burglary at a house in Chaddesden.

The incident is believed to have happened sometime between 6pm and 10pm on 18 May.

The bike, a black Carrera Cross Fire 2, was stolen from the utility room of a property in Max Road. The burglar is understood to have entered through an unsecured door.

The bike has light holders and a bell attached to its handlebars.

Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area at that time, or with any other information should contact us with reference 26*290373.

| We were called to reports about a concern for the safety of a young girl on West Park Nature Reserve on Monday 25 May.

The girl was found safe and well and a scene was put in place while enquiries were undertaken.

There is no wider risk to the public, and the scene has been closed.

| A teenager has been charged with GBH following a reported stabbing in Chaddesden.

We were called to reports of an incident in Wollaton Road, Chaddesden, at 5.30pm on Thursday 21 May to reports that a man had been stabbed.

Fi****ms officers attended the scene and the victim, a man aged 19, was found to have suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

A man aged 19 and a woman aged 42, both from the Derby area, were arrested by armed officers on suspicion of GBH.

Last night (22 May) Morgan Page was charged with one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article in public.

The 19-year-old, of Martin Drive, Chaddesden, was remanded into police custody and is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court today (23 May).

The 42-year-old woman has been released on police bail as enquiries continue.

| Teenager who stole motorbike in Derby sentenced

A teenager who stole a motorbike in Derby has been sentenced for his crimes.

A woman reported that her Keeway motorbike had been stolen from within the grounds of Derby University at about 4pm on Wednesday 8 April.

Officers were dispatched to the area and spotted three boys riding around on motorbikes without helmets on.

The trio left their bikes and officers gave chase on foot around the Chaddesden area.

One of them started jumping over fences in residents’ gardens in Meadow Lane, causing damage to panels along the way.

An officer caught up with the 17-year-old and arrested him. The boy gave a no comment interview to officers.

The Derby boy was charged with:-

*Theft of a motor vehicle

*Two counts of criminal damage

*Breaking bail conditions

*Driving without a licence

*Driving without insurance

*Riding a motorbike without protective headgear

*Failing to stop at a red light.

He admitted all offences during an appearance at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Friday 15 May.

The teenager was ordered to pay £490 in compensation and referred to a young offender panel to sign a six-month contract.

Good morning...

Op Sceptre Week continues here at Chaddesden, Oakwood and Spondon SNT.

Yesterday we hosted a meet the team event at The Racecourse on St Marks Road. We were joined by the Derbyshire Police Cadets, who helped us with our stall, and also did knife sweeps around the park.

We would like to thank all those that come up to us and spoke with us, it was a pleasure to speak to you. The cadets also had quite a bit interest in their role, and several young people were very interested in joining the cadets.

Keep an eye out on other activities we are doing this week for Op Sceptre, and for the next time we host another SNT event in your area.

| We were called to Wollaton Road, Chaddesden, at 5.30pm today (21 May) to reports that a man had been stabbed.

Fi****ms officers attended the scene and the victim, a man aged 19, was found to have suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

A man aged 19 and a woman aged 42, both from the Derby area, were arrested by armed officers in the Nuthall area of Nottingham on suspicion of GBH and remain in police custody.

There are not believed to be any links to either of the two incidents that took place in the city yesterday.

Op Sceptre week continues with us over at the Chaddesden, Oakwood and Spondon SNT.

PCSO Wright & PCSO Gregson have been to Springfield Primary School and delivered a presentation to over 90 pupils.

PCSO Maestri and PC Biggs from the Youth Engagement Team, have been at Da Vinci Academy and did a pop up stand in the foyer. They spoke with many pupils, and did various quizzes with them. Stickers and pens were given to students who answered the questions.

We'll be over at The racecourse on St Marks Road till 9pm, hosting a pop up stall, we'll be there for you to come and talk to and ask questions. We'll also have the police cadets with us, if you know someone who is interested in the cadets, please come on down and have a chat with them. We look forward to seeing you. We'll also have a knife amnesty bin with us, if you want to dispose of any knives.

Our police officers have been very busy too, they've arrested a male recently for intent to supply class A and class B drugs, great proactive work by the team.

| Man charged over burglary in Oakwood

A man has been charged with burgling a home in Oakwood.

A property was broken into in Morley Road on Sunday 3 May and a number of items were stolen including a TV and documents.

Derbyshire Constabulary’s Neighbourhood Acquisitive Crime Team (NACT) launched an investigation into the incident and have now charged Lyam Repton with burglary dwelling and theft.

The 44-year-old, of no fixed abode, appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 21 May and was remanded into custody.

His next appearance will be before Derby Crown Court on Thursday 11 June.
