A catch up with Insp Wildman!👮🏻♂️
The third quarter of 2026 has certainly been another busy one! As the summer heated up, so did the demand and challenges across the area. We’ve been busy maintaining our daily business and acting on identified issues and problems you tell us about, along with more valuable work alongside our partner agencies.✅
I am wanting to take the time to update you on the progress on the priorities we set for the third quarter of the year, whilst also notifying you of our upcoming SNT priorities for the upcoming three months.

Quarter 3 – Neighbourhood Priorities – Actions taken/Results
Over the last 3 months, Sinfin SNT have focused on tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) and Drug Dealing around the the Grampian Way Estate, nuisance ASB and Criminal Damages affecting the shops and employees of the District Centre and finally ASB around Shakespeare Street and ‘Rocket Park’.
The team have achieved the following:
- Our SNT completed 47 stop searches across Sinfin & Chellaston, conducting both plain clothes and uniformed patrols in the area, aimed at disrupting criminality and making our streets safer.
- Worked alongside partner agencies to address ongoing issues from certain addresses around Athol Close and Lapwing Close.
- My PCSOs have arranged and hosted multiple pop-up community events and street-meets alongside partner agencies and businesses to raise awareness of ASB and promote reporting.
- Conducted numerous evening proactive patrols targeting hotspot areas in relation to acquisitive crime and ASB and engage with both residents and employer/employees in the area to ensure their voice is heard and concerns addressed.

This leads me onto the upcoming months, where my aim is to take on the feedback you have provided us (via engagements and the Derbyshire Alert surveys) and tell you of our focuses & priorities for the next yearly quarter between October to December. ❗
- To target the use of nuisance and illegal motorbikes & e-scooters in the Grampian Way Estate with proactive patrols and working with our internal and external partners.
- To continue to tackle and challenge ASB, along with working closely with businesses, to reduce nuisance begging & criminal damage occurring in the District Centre.
- To also address ongoing ASB in the Shakespeare Street / Rocket Park area, but to also keep incorporating patrols to cover the Derby Golf course following reports of ASB taking place on their premises.
On top of these, there will also be an additional Priority as part of the local Youth Engagement Team which has identified via conversations and engagements with young people in the area who want to see a greater Policing presence in public places, especially focused around the canal path and underpasses of the area. 🌳
Our priorities are set at the start of each quarter and are based off community feedback, obtained via various methods which include comments on social media, conversations that you the public have with my PCs and PCSOs. This also includes ongoing surveys the PCSOs complete with the community to gauge your feedback and feelings on what you’d like Police to focus on. We take on various other forms of feedback using partner agencies, such as the CSP (Community Safety Partnership), local Councillors & housing providers. 🚓
