Today your local Safer Neighbourhood Team attended a reported incident of a male who was alleged to be in possession of a knife 🔪

Officers quickly arrived minutes after the call came in and located the male ⏰

Thanks to their quick work the male was subsequently arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, threats to kill and theft ❗

Enquiries around the incident remain ongoing.

Some of your local PCSOs have attended a Community Litter Pick around City Point.

It was nice to see the community coming together to help improve where they live🏡
It was also great to have Riverside Housing, local councillors, local residents and the Neighbourhood Team present too.

On Saturday 29th August, your Local Police SNT attended Great Northern Classics to engage with members of the public at their Jaguar car event, we spoke to many members of the public about things ranging from the problems they have in their local area to what to do if you believe your vehicle registration plate has been cloned, it was lovely to engage with the public and hope to speak to more people at future events!👮🏼‍♂️ 🚔 🙂

After receiving multiple calls about an abandoned moped on Wadebridge Grove Alvaston 🌳

The Safer Neighbourhood Team attended and found the moped propped up against a metal fence 🏍️

It is believed to of been ridden without insurance and involved in Anti Social Behaviour ❌

After being abandoned and unable to find the registered keeper of the vehicle it was seized and taken to a garage to be assessed 👍

| A man has been charged and remanded in prison following a reported fi****ms incident in Derby.

We were called to reports of a man with a gun in Sinfin Lane just before 1pm on Sunday 16 August.

Armed officers attended the scene and, after a search of the area, a man was arrested by armed officers in Arleston Lane.

Mark Maher was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence yesterday (17 August) and was remanded in police custody.

The 46-year-old, of Sinfin Lane, Derby, appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court today (18 August) where he was further remanded to prison.

He is next due to appear at Derby Crown Court on 15 September 2026.

| Appeal launched following e-scooter robbery in Derby

Officers investigating the robbery of a teenage boy’s e-scooter in Derby are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The incident happened in Farmhouse Road, Sinfin, at about 4.30pm on Saturday 25 July.

A 14-year-old boy on an e-scooter was approached by two suspects who grabbed the vehicle and demanded the victim get off it.

They rode off on the boy's scooter in the direction of a nearby ASDA.

Both suspects are described as either men or boys and were wearing face coverings.

One is described as being 6ft tall, with a slim build and was wearing a grey and black Nike Tech tracksuit. He was carrying a black, red and white coloured backpack, and was wearing black trainers.

The second suspect was 5ft 6ins tall, and was wearing a full black tracksuit with his hood up and black gloves.

Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for the public’s help.

We would like to hear from anyone who has CCTV, Ring doorbell or dash cam footage which may have captured the incident and has not yet spoken with officers.

We are growing concerned for the safety of missing 42-year-old Emily.

She was last seen yesterday at around 10.40am in the Wordsworth Avenue area of Sinfin.

She is described as 5ft 5ins tall with very long dark brown hair. She was wearing bright blue gym shorts, grey/white trainers, a white t-shirt and a white jumper.

| A man has been arrested in Derby for possession of a firearm.

We received calls today from members of the public to reports of a man on Sinfin Lane this afternoon, Sunday 16 August, carrying what looked like a gun.

Officers swiftly attended and a 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm.

He is in police custody.
