About the role
At Community Links, we support people with learning disabilities to live independent, meaningful lives — and we’re looking for caring, reliable people to join our team.

This is more than just a job. It’s about building relationships, supporting people to achieve their goals, and being part of moments that really matter.

No two days are the same — you might be:
• Supporting someone to cook a meal or learn new life skills
• Helping someone access the community or attend activities
• Encouraging independence, confidence and choice
• Supporting with health, routines, and daily living
• Being part of someone’s journey towards greater independence.

What we’re looking for
We’re not just looking for experience — we’re looking for the right values.

You’ll be:
• Kind, patient and positive
• Reliable and committed
• Able to work as part of a team and independently
• Motivated to support others to live their best lives

Experience is helpful but not essential — we provide full training. If you’ve supported someone in any capacity (family, friends, work), we’d love to hear from you.

A full UK driving licence and access to a car (with business insurance) is preferred but not essential.

Important information (please read)
• You must have the right to work in the UK
• We are not able to offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship
• Shifts include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
• Skills for using basic IT (emails, online systems) are required

What you’ll get
Pay & financial benefits
• £13.00 per hour with mandatory training in place
• £70 per sleep-in shift
• Enhanced pay for bank holidays
• Pension scheme
• Life assurance benefit

Wellbeing & support
• 24/7 GP access
• Bupa advice line
• Regular supervisions and team support
• Rewards and discounts through pension and HR providers

Work life & development
• Flexible working options
• Casual dress
• 28 days annual leave, plus an extra day after one year
• Free enhanced DBS
• Overtime opportunities

Your development
We invest in our people and want you to grow with us.
You’ll have access to:
• Full induction and ongoing training
• Level 3 NVQ / Apprenticeship opportunities
• Potential progression opportunities
• Opportunities to develop skills in communication, coordination, and leadership
Why join us?
We are a values-led organisation that genuinely cares — about the people we support and our staff.
You’ll be part of a supportive team where:
• Your voice is heard
• Your development matters
• Your work makes a real difference every day
Final note
If you’re looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact and be part of something meaningful — we’d love to hear from you.

We are so proud of the team of staff and customers who, on Saturday, went and did a 5km walk to raise funds for the National Autistic Society

It was a beautiful day at Markeaton Park, in Derby. The guys joined, coincidentally, the Park Run that was going on at the time!!

Everyone had loads of fun and all completed the walk, an amazing achievement. Even more impressive is that they have raised a phenomenal £770!!!

Thank you to everyone who dug deep and donated and congratulations and thanks to the team and customers for getting up early on a Saturday morning and smashing out a 5km walk 🥳👏👏👏👏👏

We are sad to have to post this but, our lovely minibus that we rely on to bring our customers in and take them out on trips, swimming and visits, was stolen last night!!!

We would really appreciate it if you could please keep your eyes peeled and share this post as far and wide as possible. We have reported it to the police but are at a bit of a loss as what else we can do.

This has quite a big impact for us and our customers and really hope it is found/ returned ASAP.

Here is a photo of it, reg AF62 KWL. There is a blue, disabled badge on the rear of the vehicle. It has a bump on the rear passenger side, sliding door and inside, there is an internal screen separating the front passenger and driver. The front passenger seat is also just a single seat, there are normally two.

If you have any information, please do send a message directly or email Al Ditheridge [email protected]

Thanks a million.
