MAN is set up to create Safe space to hear and support the life experiences of Males. Supporting and Promoting Male Health and Wellbeing

Important interview from Mens Alliance NI on UTV highlighting the urgent need for funding and a dedicated refuge for male victims of domestic abuse.

Well done to Mens Alliance for continuing to raise awareness and champion men who are too often overlooked within the sector we represent. Men's Alliance NI

Our charity has consistently pushed for recognition, support services and safe spaces for male victims across the decades and will continue to do so.

In Northern Ireland, thousands of men experience domestic abuse every year, yet refuge provision remains extremely limited.

Every victim deserves safety, dignity and support, regardless of gender; who's listening?

“In Confidence..." - Mondays - 6pm (Email - [email protected])

'In Confidence' is more than a support group, it’s a space where lived experience becomes hope for someone else.

Addiction, trauma, loss, isolation, & struggle can make people believe change is impossible.

This group brings together men who have fought battles, rebuilt their lives, & are willing to share their journey honestly so others know they are not alone in total confidence.

Every story shared has the power to save, inspire, & help another man take that first step forward.

If you have travelled your own road, no matter what it was, and would like to share your experiences to help support others, we invite you to contact us in confidence.

Facilitated by counsellors from Men's Action Network.

Men are dying because prostate cancer is often found too late.

The NHS says national screening could “cause more harm than good” because some treatments may lead to side effects like erectile dysfunction or incontinence, as stated.

But for many men & families, the greater harm is a cancer diagnosis that comes too late to treat effectively.

Prostate cancer is now the most common cancer in men in the UK, taking around 12,000 lives every year.

Men deserve the right to informed choice, early detection, & access to the best possible care, not silence, stigma, or delay.

Screening and testing have improved massively. MRI scans, targeted biopsies & active monitoring mean treatment is no longer a one-size-fits-all approach. Many men may never need invasive treatment at all.

We encourage men to know the risks, speak to their GP, & start conversations early, especially if you are over 50, have a family history of prostate cancer, or are worried about symptoms. Prostate Cancer UK

Contact us for support with anxiety & depression.

Reaching out is a first step toward getting things off your chest in a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly without judgement.

We provide practical & emotional support to help you manage what you’re going through and by building successful coping strategies together.

You don’t have to face it alone, support is there when you’re ready to reach out.

A big thank you to Men's Alliance NI for again meeting with us to discuss their work & for taking part in a planning session on men’s health and wellbeing.

These conversations are important. When charities and organisations with a strong track record of work in the areas we represent share ideas & plan collaboratively, it puts our sector in a better position. It helps ensure we build on the success that already exists.

There is real value in maintaining these relationships, sustaining momentum, & continuing to move from discussion into coordinated planning. The more we plan together, the stronger and more effective our support for men in our communities becomes.

Looking forward to continuing the work & building on what was discussed; some unique, transformative approaches!

And again, volunteers ensuring impact is sustained!

💙 SUPPORT THE JOURNEY - DONATE HERE:
https://www.goodhub.com/go/miles-for-minds

(Any businesses wishing to sponsor Dene, drop him a line!)

From 26th June to 5th July 2026, Harley Dene will take on one of Ireland’s toughest endurance challenges, running from Mizen Head to Malin Head, from the very south to the very north of the island.

This is more than a run.

It’s a statement.
A fight.
A reminder that no one should have to battle mental health struggles alone.

Over hundreds of miles, Dene will push through so many emotions all to raise awareness and vital funds for Foyle Search & Rescue and Men's Action Network.

Every mile represents people in our communities facing silent struggles every single day.

This challenge is about:

• Breaking stigma around mental health
• Raising life changing funds
• Encouraging people to speak up
• Showing that support and hope exist

At Men's Action Network, we witness first hand the impact mental health challenges can have on individuals, families, and communities. That’s why this challenge matters.

Every donation, every share, and every message of support helps carry this challenge forward.

💙 Please support Dene’s incredible journey and help us continue vital mental health and community support work.

“We are now in a position where we have to really acknowledge that the Mental Health Strategy is not going to be delivered.”

Professor Siobhán O’Neill’s (NI Mental Health Champion) words should concern every person throughout our society.

Across our communities, charities and grassroots organisations are carrying increasing levels of trauma, crisis and mental ill health while battling exhaustion, uncertainty and constant funding pressures just to keep doors open.

The reality is stark. We cannot continue asking the community sector to deliver long term mental health support through short term funding, burnout and goodwill alone.

Workers are tired, services are stretched, and too many organisations are spending more time chasing survival than building sustainable change.

If mental health is truly a priority, government MUST MOVE beyond statements and photo opportunities and begin investing seriously in prevention, recovery and community infrastructure.

Because when the people holding communities together begin to break, the consequences are felt everywhere; who's listening?

Thanks to Derry Now for attending our launch!

Every person in this photo has played a significant role in ensuring we continue to support men and their families in our community.

They have put months of hard work in behind the scenes to create our new hub in the city centre.

If we can support you, a friend or loved one in total confidence, don't hesitate to reach out for support and guidance:
