The transformative Good Jobs Bill will deliver the most significant improvement to workers’ rights in decades.

It is about supporting workers, protecting families and ensuring fair pay and conditions for all.

We will work constructively with other parties to deliver this bill.

A huge thank you to the team Millennium Forum Theatre & Conference Centre for their generous donation of £11,350.40 to the Mayor’s Charities – PIPS Su***de Prevention Charity & the Castlederg Patient Terminally Ill Comfort Fund.

The funds were raised through collections from audiences during the recent pantomime season - a fantastic example of community spirit and the power of the arts to make a lasting impact.
I was delighted to accept the cheque and would like to thank all the staff and patrons whose contributions will support important local causes. 👏🥰

The Social Justice Fund is part of, and supported by, the Northern Ireland Human Rights Fund (NIHRF).

𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬:

Applications must demonstrate that their proposal will contribute to at least one of the following objectives:

▪ To give voice and power to those whose human rights are most at risk and to support them to challenge inequality, exclusion, and unfairness
▪ To provide groups and communities with support to challenge, monitor and remedy inequality and rights violations
▪ To increase awareness of and contribute to building a culture of rights within and between communities, particularly those most marginalised from decision making
▪ To support communities and marginalised groups to find solutions to contentious issues

We would particularly welcome applications for projects which focus on peacebuilding/legacy, racial justice, gender, health, socio-economic rights, tech, and digital rights, (including the need for accountability and safeguards), and climate.

Grants will be available up to £5,000.
In very exceptional circumstances, the panel may decide to award grants up to £15,000.

Huge announcement ‼️Share

Ok so I’ve been working to push for a debate on the assembly floor. Post 19 SEND is an issue that needs the spotlight I have worked hard for this moment.

We remain committed to a care plan lifelong for those with complex needs however, this is a good place to start and get this out onto the assembly floor so I am grateful.

SDLP have agreed to bring this forward. Their motion is as follows: ⬇️

Post-19 SEN Support

That this Assembly recognises the importance of ensuring that all young people with Special

Educational Needs (SEN) are supported to reach their full potential beyond the age of 19; acknowledges that every year, families across Northern Ireland face a devastating “cliff edge” when their child leaves special school, with support falling away and too many young people left without the care, structure and dignity they need to live a full life; further acknowledges that current provision for post-19 SEN support in Northern Ireland lags significantly behind that available in other jurisdictions; and calls on the Executive to bring forward legislation which ensures consistent, high-quality provision and clear entitlements to SEN support for young people between the ages of 19 & 25.

It will be debated on the floor of the Assembly Monday 18th May. Timings are indicative at this point, but the debate is scheduled for 5pm that evening.

Can you come along? We need to fill the gallery with young people and their families! This is a big moment for all of us. I have never seen Post 19 SEND debated on the assembly floor. So let’s go.

If you can come and I really really need this please indicate below. The media will be present. I cannot do this on my own so I am asking… protest the following day so I will be flat out but it’s worth it 🩵
