Feeling the heat 🥵❓

The meadow is almost 5C colder than around the Quakers Walk development right now (nearly 11pm).

It is not just beneficial for our insect friends, it is here to help us 🌡️.

Talking about help, many species are needing a little extra help to see through this early heat wave. This young blackbird 🐦‍⬛ was one of several birds showing heat stress today.

Why not put a bowl with water to help them out a little👍

Although it looks like the heat is making the meadow grow and seed faster than normal yet again, it was lovely to see 6 species of butterflies 🦋 in a space of 2 minutes and countless more moths, and the start of the orchids making their return 💚.

The river of daffodils that runs from top to bottom of the Quakers Walk meadow is looking absolutely beautiful!

These native Narcissus were planted over 5 years ago as part of a massive 10,000 individual bulbs planting event with the local community. They provide an early food source for wildlife and are a beautiful start to Spring for us humans.

Come for a walk and see!
