To mark the 50th Anniversary of the designation of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the second North Wessex Downs Walking Festival will be held from 11th to 26th June.

There will be 28 walks across the AONB including opportunities to discover wildlife, culture and history.

Participants will be able to:

Follow an accessible trail
Visit a working farm
Enjoy a family picnic
Explore a forest
Soak up the stunning views from the top of the downs.

Knowledgeable guides will on hand to lead the way to help bring to life some of the highlights.

Wiltshire has been awarded "Best UK destination" at the annual Group Leisure and Awards ceremony.

Beating several other destinations in its category including Bristol, Devon, The Isle of Wight and London, VisitWiltshire was honoured to accept the award on behalf of all its hospitality and tourism businesses.

With 116 finalists and 20 winners the online ceremony was hosted by TV presenter Ben Hanlin.
Located near at the geographic centre of Wiltshire Tichbornes are extremely proud to have played a small part in this fantastic achievement. We look forward to helping both new and returning visitors discover why this award is so richly deserved.

The beautiful Tichborne's Farm Cottages and their silver Green Tourism award! Jon and Judy Nash worked hard to convert the stables into self-catering accommodation built to the highest of standards

In late 2011 the owners added three solar panel systems to reduce Tichborne’s carbon footprint. The panels are located away from the holiday cottages on another farm building roof and give power to all the cottages, the farm and the farmhouse.

In addition, all the farm’s water comes from a borehole which provides wonderful, chemical-free water that has been filtered through the chalk downs of Salisbury Plain. Amazing!
