A post from Cheshire East Council regarding the road surface in extreme temperature. 🌡️
They are aware of the situation on the A6.

🌡️ Due to the current high temperatures, road surfaces can soften, causing bitumen to rise – particularly on recently surface dressed areas.

If you see our gritters out, they’re applying specialist material to help protect affected surfaces and keep our network moving safely.

🔍 During the hot spell, we’ll be out inspecting recently laid sites.

⚠️ Surface dressing dates may be affected, as we’re unable to lay material during periods of high road surface temperatures.

Our fundraising coffee morning this Saturday helps keep the bus on the road, as a huge benefit to Disley residents. ☕

A6 Road closure update 🚧

The work on the A6 has been delayed due to the weather. 🌧️
The road closure to enable completion will be the evening of Friday 15th May weather dependent.

A6 Buxton Road West Road Closures 😬
Following extensive re-surfacing/patching work in April, surface dressing commences on Sunday 10th May. These works are highly dependent on weather conditions and temperatures, meaning that they may change at short notice.
These are the details of the work being carried out, predominantly night closures 7pm - 6am with the exception of tomorrow from 7:30am - 5:30pm:

🌞Sunday 10th May Surface Dressing
🌙Monday 11th/Tuesday 12th May Sweeping
🌙 Tuesday 12th/Wednesday 13th May Sweeping
🌙 Wednesday 13th/Thursday 14th May LockChip
🌙 Sunday 17th/Monday 18th May Road Marking
🌙 Monday 18th/Tuesday 19th May Road Marking

To keep traffic moving as safely as possible on Jacksons Edge Road when the A6 Buxton Road West is closed, cones will be placed on Jacksons Edge Road below the Leafield Road/Homestead Road junction. Please can residents avoid parking on the bottom section of Jacksons Edge Road when the A6 is closed.
