Did you know that the East Anglian Air Ambulance is NOT funded by the NHS? In my naïveté I thought that as we lived in a civic society, a good chunk of their funding was from our taxes! I was surprised to discover that is not the case. So I am minded to give £1.50 from the sale of every book of clues for the April Stowmarket treasure hunt to the EEAA. Unless I have some very convincing arguments against this idea I am just going ahead with it. It is an exceptionally good cause. Of course the super rich have their own ways of getting to their private hospitals!

Twitter seems to have disowned me. I can't log in despite supplying my mobile number which was being asked by Twitter. I then received and subsequently punched in the 6 digit code (sounds like one of my locked room challenges!) Still no access. " A technical issue has occurred". Oh well!

Colour arrived today, 2 days ahead of schedule. Very pleased with the quality of the output. That allows me to print off some promotional material for the hunt.
For those interested it is a Brother HL-3140CW and it is cheaper than a conventional laser printer because it uses to power the laser.

Another day of in in preparation for the first treasure hunt. It is a challenge in itself to find material that cannot be answered just by searching online. One of the reasons for creating this series is to get puzzlers away from the screens and do some real hunting.

Pleased to say that I found a few gems which can only be answered by some searching on the ground. Good to know that Google, Bing and Yahoo don't know the answer to everything..........yet!

It is a puzzle quest and cannot be solved by just answering questions like what shop is next door to Argos etc. It is a cryptic challenge but aimed to be achievable with a bit of prior planning. Visiting the town is absolutely essential to get answers to the puzzles and then working out where the "treasure" has been hidden. Part of the challenge I have faced is that there is SO much stuff online and with Google Street View and the likes hard to create puzzles and teasers that cannot be solved just by sitting in front of the PC.
