2374 (Ditton) Squadron Air Training Corps

2374 (Ditton) Squadron Air Training Corps 2374 (Ditton) Squadron is an Air Training Corps (Air Cadets) unit, based at the Army Reserve Centre, Ditton, Kent. Aged between 12 (in school year 8) & 17?

Parade nights Tuesdays & Thursdays 19:00 - 21:30 The Air Training Corps is the RAF's cadet force, with more than 40,000 members aged between 13 and 20 years, attending 900+ Squadrons all over the UK. The three aims of the Air Training Corps are:

1. To promote and encourage among young men and women a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.
2. To provide training which will be use

ful both in the Services and in civil life.
3. To encourage the spirit of adventure and to develop the qualities of leadership and good citizenship. We are not a recruiting organisation for the RAF but if you're thinking about a Service career, cadet membership will put you ahead of the competition. Many cadets go on to great success in the RAF (and the other Services). In fact: around 40% of officers and 50% of all aircrew (including pilots, navigators and engineers) in the RAF now are ex-cadets. Research shows that they do better in basic training and stay in the Service longer than their colleagues. Likewise, if you chose a civilian career our research proves you can go on the great things… employers just love the skills and experience that Air Cadets offer. Up for something exciting, challenging and new? We're recruiting now! PARADE NIGHTS - TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS 19:00 - 21:30

It was really good to see lots of cadets attending and having fun at athletics this year. The competition was really strong and we did well for both the girls and boys under 16 teams to place overall.

Under 16 boys come 2nd overall

Under 16 girls come 3rd overall

Cdt Dalzell-

I tried my best, had fun helped out anyone I could. Overall my highlight was Nish’s support for everyone in our team.

Cdt Malyan-

I really enjoyed doing discus for the first time, I definitely want to do it more in the future. I’m so proud of what my squadron achieved today.

Cdt Middleton-

It was so fun and everyone was so supportive. I would defiantly do this again, Well done everyone !

Congratulations to the following cadets who recently successfully passed their Bronze / Silver Leadership course.

Fs Woodhams:
Bronze leadership was a brilliant experience and I am pleased I have completed it. I have learnt many new skills that I did no know I had and made alot of new friends along the way.

Fs Scott:
I really enjoyed this Silver course and found it very informative. I liked meeting new people and developing new leadership skills to use on squadron.

Fs Bright:
The Bronze leadership course is a necessary step each cadet should to take as it sharpens your leadership skills by working in a team and not always with people you know. I enjoyed the course as the staff teaching made it feel interesting and interactive but also because I spoke to some friends.

Cpl Harris:
Bronze Leadership was a really good experience — it taught me how to work better in a team and become a stronger leader by truly listening to others and it was really fun talking to everyone there.
