Wild Woman Creates Womens Circles & womens pysche workshops in Edinburgh, Scotland. New Moon & Full Moon circles in-person and online. No particular path or belief system required.

Safe and sacred space for women, inclusive, open to all 18yrs+ women (cis & trans). Wild Woman Creates is series of offerings to community for women and our trans sisters to gather in the sacred space of circle to explore our own inner wisdom and resources for self nourishment, deep wisdom and self acceptance. I am based in Edinburgh Scotland but many of my circles are online so you can join in fr

om anywhere! I also offer Womens/womxns workshops based around hand crafting and exploration of our life transitions, and a regular Wisdom Weavers Circle for exploring our elderwoman years through the Wise Woman archetype. These are entirely my own creation born from my own menopause journey, the gathering of years, and my desire for conscious eldering as we reclaim, rediscover and reinvent ourselves. All crones. Junior crones and wannabe crones so very welcome! All my circles and workshops are informed by natural sciences, folklore, nature connection, handcrafting, ecotherapy, eco-feminism, poetry, personal ritual and more. I hold a diploma in Human Givens brief psychotherapy (currently training for my practitioners licence) and whilst womens circles are not therapy you can be confident that whatever I offer has that safe container of mental health awareness, ethics and respect around it. I believe that in circle we can experience and remember a more human way of being together, a place to uncover our own gifts and resources as we gather around hearth. Hearth is where we are accepted, honoured and empowered to be truly, deeply, unapologetically, authentically ourselves at any stage in our life. Shoulder to shoulder, hands at each other’s backs; we are all born gifted and our gifts are needed in this world! We are all sisters in circle, cis, trans, gay straight, non binary, as long as you are over 18yrs I’d be delighted and honoured if you would join me! with wild woman howls & wise woman blessings,

New moon desk hearth and it’s all eyes to the heavens as the moon partially eclipses the sun towards the end of the day and then the dark night will be lit up by streaks of fire as the remains of a comet leaves trails in our skies.

This months hearth invokes the element of fire and the late summer season with a dancing fire goddess (Alice Grey), beautiful seasonally inspired art cards from Danielle Barlow and Wendy Andrew, a vintage citrine specimen, hand made fire element rattle & drum beaters and a small bottle of sand from the oldest desert in the world, the Namib. It’s fox dispersal season so a wee Reynard has crept in and I noticed the rowans are beautifully red now.

Traditions around the world saw eclipses quite often as bad omens, others as a time of rebirth and renewal. Either way a condensed time where we can see the universe in motion, So many signs of our still beautiful world is turning in its orbit despite the despair that might seem very close at times. The sun, the moon, the earth it’s all still here and truly wonder filled.

A little wild woman poetry before the Mew Moon and its Solar Eclipse ….

I am the daughter
of a daughter.
Who is the daughter
of a daughter.
Who is also the daughter
of a daughter.

Some of us are mothers
but all of us are daughters,
all birthed through lines
that weave back to
that First Mother.
All connected from
the very beginning.
All connected in the now.
Mothers,
Daughters,
Grandmothers,
Great Grandmothers,
Great Great Grandmothers.
All daughters born from
One. Original. Egg.
from
One. Original. Woman.
So why the separation?
Why the animosity toward each other?
Why the arguing and fighting,
back-stabbing and lack of support?
The next time you see another woman,
look in her eyes and see the
Ancestral Lines – the lines of women –
that lead back to you.
Where are we going Mother?
And how will we get there Sister?
By staying connected Daughter
and allowing for difference.
For we are each one,
after all,
all Daughters
of Daughters
of Daughters
of our
One Mother

A granite bowl, a vessel of rainwater would be sacred enough after weeks of extreme heat and dryness. In the context of a Japanese garden a place to ritually cleanse the hands before moving onto a tea house, inviting all travellers to bend a little, be humble, come into the moment in calmness. The garden is a series of invitations, moments for contemplation, the gated threshold…a reflecting lake…stepping stones across a stream or over gravel…a path winding climbing & descending….the arch of a bridge…the lanterns for viewing spots or seasons.

Any ordinary garden or walking path might be approached in the same way, a conscious auto-biographic-geography noticing what emotions and thoughts arise without judgement. What the places do we avoid or not enjoy, what associations or life events come to mind. Again no judgement just information, we can choose to contemplate further or simply move on (we can always circle back another time). Invitations we can accept or turn down; a little or skip on by!
…and of course sometimes a walk in a garden is just a walk in a garden.

Contemplations for the waning moon. I am enjoying the rain and cooler air we’ve been blessed with in SE Scotland recently so today’s cards for inspiration and contemplation have a distinctly water and air elements vibe to them and they seem to have a common thread of choice/consequence to them.

Owls sheltering their young in the rain speak of choices and sacrifices, one tale tells us owls swapped waterproof feathers for soft feathers for silent hunting and so in the rain must seek shelter. Dragonflies exchange their life as underwater dragons for the air, shedding their old skins and emerging into the light. We may have to shed the old before we can fly, we may exist as several realities over our lives but we can only truly live in the moment. An air element rattle honours the tremendous journeys of birds to chase the spring for breeding and feeding.

Continuing the Demeter thread, Persephone ate three small pomegranate seeds whilst in the underworld which tied her to that land so even Demeter in all her power over grain and growing things couldn’t not free her daughter entirely from the land of the dead. Sometime in the upper world of grain and sunlight and sometime in the underworld was the consequence.

Neither owls or dragonflies really had a choice, they can only live fully as they are. And one could argue neither really did Persephone….perhaps this is the wisdom that whatever we choose we must think about consequences but once chosen, live as fully and as authentically as we are able….use our wings when we are able, make the best choices we can and live.

Of grain and goddesses…
Lammastide and the traditional start of harvest season in these islands, first the berries and then the grains and always a sweeping asymmetric time but this year after a series of wet springs and bone dry summers some will be bringing in the grain before it’s dried to dust, the grain and soil both and others are warning this could be their last harvest.

Crops reaped and cut, scythed and threshed, a violent taking of earths fertility to make bread and beer folk songs remind us. But this year more than before, the sorrow of the reaping is felt more acutely than ever. Standing by this crop of wheat I feel the grief of Demeter, lamenting for the abduction and r**e of her daughter Persephone by Hades, she withheld her powers over the soil and crops, withering them to dust until her daughter was returned. A life death cycle mystery of goddesses and gods to explain the seasonality of growing and harvest, but somewhere we’ve missed our duty as part of it all……we have been tacitly complicit in the r**e doing little while the powerful take whatever they want whenever they want with no thought to consequences. No wonder Demeter is furious.

Full moon ritual recipe for high summer….yarrow is in full bloom near me just now, so a little dried yarrow with oat straw and chamomile seemed like a good blend for the hot and humid days of late summer with a few of the first local raspberries on the side and a little traditional folk tune from the Braes of Yarrow (named for the river in the Scottish Borders). A moment of mindfulness…

Water be my teacher…water carry me…

Escaping the city for some salty sea air and the lapping of waves as the tide reclaims the sand. Letting the soul fly like the terns over the face of the deep.

A navigators pouch of Atlantic salmon leather (from iceland) containing Iceland spar and a small lodestone, born from creative journalling around women’s journeys. When travellers reach the sea where do they go from the river? Perhaps like the Salmon and Eel they venture out into the wide ocean, becoming part of a greater collective, one day to return to the river. Perhaps we are like sea turtles, living mysterious lives over vast ocean depths, finding land across hundreds of kms of ocean. Navigators, nomads of land and sea.

Women’s circles support our soul work, our growth and connection and they also inspire dispersion, empowering women in their own time and own way to swim into the currents of life. The circle can be a nursery pond, incubating gravels for journeys and adventures but also home for the returning wisdom or weary traveller wisdom. We may swim down stream to ever wider and deeper lives to the sea but we carry the river and the braiding of those waters with our sisters for much longer. Other women are our sisters and for a while we may be privileged to swim with them in the same river or meet them in the wide ocean.

May we recognise each other as kin, whether we are salmon, eel, or turtle. 💙💙

“…Carried by the surprise of its own unfolding”
Such simple words and yet the blessing, a wish that we might find awe and wonder in life, moment to moment, day to day, to flow with life, through ruffles and meanders, through cataracts and chasms, allowing all things to pass in their time, a lesson in allowing. Some days I am the rock in the stream and some days I pour like waterfalls.

19/07/2026

Listening to the river, low water but still flowing, quietly chattering to itself over its stream bed. I didn’t need to take my shoes off to walk over this bar, a riffle in the stream, the water so cold, the light so mesmerising, glittering around a pool of calm nestled in the pebbbles. A small pool of the same river water with three blue tumble stones…an 3-fold invocation to bless the land with rain to fill the rivers once again, to soak the soil and quench the fires. I scatter droplets of the river back to itself and pour the rest, a libation over my hands and back to the stream. The tumble stones ride home again in my pocket and the cool blessing of water stays with me.

Although there is much in the world that needs our fire, our rage to action and positive change, we are also like this river, even reduced in drought the smallest stream still serves life and in dry seasons the empty channel is a memory a dream of days of roaring flow. Dry or overflowing the river is still there, still itself.

Thank you river 💧🙏🏻💙
